I've only just found this forum - so first post!

Last year, I stumbled across my old car on eBay - being sold by the guy I sold her to in 2004.  Whilst she still only has 91,000 genuine miles on the clock - he only put about 9,000 on it in 12 years, she has still required a certain amount of recommissioning with Pete Berry, and is currently undergoing a full respray.  I originally purchased in 1992 with only 32,000 miles on the clock - so have known the car for the majority of her life.  She has had some tweaks done by Brian Ricketts & Kim Collins.

Back to the current, after a long search, I have managed to source some 225 Toyos to replace the Bridgestones that I put on it in 2001 - if anybody knows of a 215 source- please let me know.

The next hurdle, is the electric aerial.  I went through 2 original Fuba masts & replaced with a fixed mast - how I wish I had put the old aerials in the loft - just in case!  Has anybody replaced an aerial in recent times, and if so, what with?  Quattro corner do a pattern replacement - has anybody had any experience of these.

The plan is to get the old girl down to Le Mans in June.

Firstly, welcome!

As a fellow MB owner, nice to see another getting restored to former glory.

On the subject of 215's, they seem to be popping up even less these days, but there are some more going to hit the market, but don't know when.  Definately none about right now.  A friend got a new set, but had to get them from someone in Belgium, paid a pretty penny too!

Didn't know Pete Reeve started doing a pattern one, but if they look the same, I'd go for it.  The only place to get a good or re-con one these days is from a chap on called Beermonster.  He generally has some or will repair your own (he says they are almost always repairable), but not cheap.  I paid 150 for one over 6 years ago!

What colour is your car?

2001 B5 RS4 Santorin Blue
MRC Custom Remap/Miltek Cat-back/Wagner Down Pipes /B7 Brakes/Loba Cams

88 Pearl White MB ur quattro
