( the yank car testers will no doubt get it to do 60 in 2.5 secs tho LOL!)

I was looking through TG mag over the weekend and was surprised that the TTRS Plus is the quickest Audi to 60.

Im sure thats right but some claims were being made of 3.6 to 60 in the NON plus cars!  ( was it track & Driver? - some yank mag anyway!)  Im sure a well tuned one would get that np tho.

Audi of America are already advertising a 3.7, 0-60 car.

A few reasons why US based times usually are quicker than Euro based ones:
- 0-60mph vs. 0-62.5mph: The factory 0-100kmh time is often quoted as the 0-60mph time in countries that use mph. At this level, the last 2.5mph accounts for approx. 0.2-0.25s. Much more if a gearshift is required right after 60mph.
- Most US magazines use rollout as it is the standard on a drag strip. On average, rollout accounts for approx 0.3s better time than a non-rollout time.
-Most US mags test with driver only and little fuel while European mags test with passenger and a full tank, penalizing manufacturers who put big capacity fuel tanks in their cars.

In addition, US based testers often launch the cars harder than Euro testers, particularly mags like Auto Motor und Sport who seemingly can't get even 1000hp cars below 11s in the 1/4.

However, who cares about standing start times anymore, now that launch control and double clutch boxes have changed the game. These times are now a pretty poor indication of who will win a friendly highway roll on race, like, say 60-100mph or 100-200kmh. 100-200kmh is the new gold standard, 0-100kmh is of limited interest anymore, with most of the old traffic light type intersections having been replaced with roundabouts over the last decades.

Audi quote 0-62.5mph in 4.1secs, not 0-60.

Quite a difference there, 0.2secs which would make the standard time of 3.9secs. Audi test with 2 passengers and a full tank of fuel and hence why lots are able to get it to do 3.6-3.7 to 60 when they test with just driver.

The TTRS + (360) makes the exact same power as the TTRS (340) on the dyno

We have been through this whole 62.5mph vs 60mph thing before though and you keep missing the point

We'll find out when I decide to have mine mapped

I will prob just go straight for S2 when I do, but I might have the secondary cat delete pipes done quite soon just for the noise factor. I was speaking to Doug about your car when I was at MRC having my S put back to stock, are you just running a decat DP in yours Craig? I'm wondering whether to bother with an aftermarket system or just go down this route.

PS, your sig needs updating mate

Yeah, was going by the Yank dyno figures which shows around 360-365. Most RS's in the UK are coming off the dyno with 355-360 so perhaps exact same power is pushing things, it's very close. Will see what yours does, will be interesting to see.

Yeah mate, there is no point going for an aftermarket exhaust, you will get the same benefit by drilling the cat out of the OEM downpipe. (I had a Milltek TBE on my manual boxed RS so know this for sure) Instead of say 1700-1800 for an exhaust system fitted, drill out the primary cat, labour charges of 4hrs to do the whole lot, much cheaper.

Yeah, go for the Milltek bypass pipes just now, purely for the increased noise.
