I was just on the hunt for some decent micro fibre cloths for cleaning the car so thought I'd check here first to see what people are using. Would be ideal if they a company made them with "on" Or "off" written on them so as the cloths were only getting used for the same thing each time, if you get my drift. Also what's the best way to wash them?
Cheers.

depends on what they are being used for, removing wax and polish needs a shorter pile with some bite to it, while quick detailing needs a nice thick pile. cleanyourcar do a good range of cloths, the asda microfibers are good for the majority of tasks

I'm not into heavy detailing and being a silver car hides a lot of marks. I've got a quick detailing spray from angelwax so wondered what would be best for that. I've just bought a lambswool mitt and that's superb for washing once its been snow foamed.

Colin, you could buy two different colours for 'on and off'.

I did once make the mistake of cleaning my windows with a microfibre I'd previously used for conditioning the leather. Looked like I'd cleaned the windows with butter and it took a hell of a lot of elbow grease to clean then up properly. D'oh!!!

I just use the asda ones aswell, plentiful and cheap!

If you are going to wash them don't use a fabric softener, makes them crap at soaking up water I've found!

Yep no fabric softner, go over to detailing world they will say use the proper stuff or a liquid detergant, I just use the powder that's in the cupboard, just make sure they get a good rinse 40degrees then tumble dry them in lowish heat to fluff them up, easy
