I see on the MRC Facebook page that they have had a 8V RS3 on the dyno for a stage one map.

While tuned there is an impressive increase in torque and additional area under the power curve, it is the stock figure that is also interesting.

MRC measure the car (which I assume has little mileage on it) at 398PS and 486Nm. The Audi published figures are 367PS and 465Nm.

I note from the QST facebook page they were looking for a volunteer with an RS3 for a free dyno run as their own development car "making abnormally high power for standard".

The RS 3 just got more interesting for me!

A healthy standard B5 RS4 runs near enough bang on 380PS if that helps the context.

Spotted this on the QST Instagram page the other day, I had a test drive in one the other day and was a little underwhelmed as I thought it would pull harder. Don't get me wrong it was quick but not as I expected.

Would be nice for a N/A Audi to make more power than stated!

These are going to be the next big thing i reckon…..

Light, stiff chassis and very tractable power.
what's not to like.

Like these a lot, but quite a bit out of my reach at the minute. both generations to be honest. I'd love to get the good lady in to an early one but they seem to be holding value a little too well.

Not doubting the power output of these one bit, but if it does put down nearly 400 bhp why is it not walking away from the golf R with the extra 100 in hand on some of the track tests?

I've seen 7 or 8 dyno plots of standard cards and they are all well north of 380bhp.
vBox figures also place it significantly quicker than the published 0-62's as well.
Stage 1 vBox puts it sub 4 seconds!

It's the usual case of not wanting the baby RS to encroach on the bigger R/RS car's territory.

I will very likely be going Stage 1 in due course, but for now, it's so widely insane as it is I really don't feel the need (unlike the S1 which was done within 2 weeks of ownership!).

There are 2 I've seen that have already had TTE500 turbo's on them, and with JUST that and a remap are around 500bhp. With a few modest other changes (mainly exhaust and intake I would think) it should be comfortably north of 500 and hopefully reliable too. I MAY go this route if I keep the car post warranty and make it a true toy rather than it's current daily/toy hybrid guise.
