Audi Driver International 2008 at Castle Combe
Saturday 11th October 2008 saw AudiSRS attend Audi Driver International. In its fledgling year, the stand was excepionally well attended with over 30 cars.
Running alongside this, and with so many using the track, we chose to raise funds for charity by offering passenger laps. With some input from the benefitting charities, this was organised with the donations split between MacMillan Cancer Care and National Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children, NSPCC.
Cars displayed on the stand included S2, S3, S4, RS2, RS4 & RS6 models, all of which were presented to the highest standards even though some had travelled long distances to the event. A testament to the owners, and a proud badge for AudiSRS.com.
The weather was warm and sunny, which helped encourage more to venture out on track and it was good to see Ur quattros, NSU's and other forms of Audi models on track all day. Even better to see some of the old Auto Union motorbikes out on track during the lunchtime demonstration laps. Most of the members took part in these, affording kids and others an opportunity to view the track from the car rather than the other side of the fence.
Some twenty passengers took part in the charity laps, donating to the nominated charities, over £500 has been raised so far and this figure is still rising. The day was a success on all counts, a great social event for the forum with an excellent attendance, lots of things to see & do, track time available & especially memorable when AudiSRS won the Gold award at the Gala Dinner for the most informative Club/Website.
Book your spaces early for next year when we will be back, bigger and better with more activities organised and some more fund raising for worthy causes.
