wheel arches could be a bit wider tolook like the Ur quattro style arches:) wonder if it has a proper engine in it.... a 5 pot bi turbo thats on the cards.

Yeah i agree Quattrokid, looks really good but could do with more wider arches. And as far as engine is concerned, from what i have heard its going to be similar V8 to RS4 but with double air intakes etc. NO turbos
But still lookin forward to this, love the rear diffuser, active spoiler and two tone seats

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Want Need Must Have. I said that about the B5 RS4.
Shame about the lack of turbos though - might be a case of Want Need Might Consider.
Why so they tempt us with Red cars.

I guess Im going to be the only person that does'nt like it?!
It looks bland and boring to me, just like the S5 and A5 do too.....
littlebear
I hope they do it on Noggy
quattrokid
I thought this was suppposed to be a 30 year celebration model for the Ur quattro... dont recall Ur quattro's having a V8 !!
a bi turbo 5 pot is supposed to be coming down the pipes soon.....so what better than to plant it in the nose of this beauty...still circa 450 bhp though.
Perhaps the A5 sport quattro thats due out later this year is a stand alone model as well as this V8 version
price guess anyone? north of £ 55k i recon
RS666
No pics of the engine yet, bit strange I thought they would be showing it off in the brochure? would love to see this beasts heart, covered in carbon!
Hope they add a few turbos last minute
The gearbox looks like a DSG with paddles on steering wheel, nice touch having them covered in suede type leather too. I wonder if this is going to be 7 Speed
hiltoa
I reckon those carbon/polished wheels would look good on a B5 RS4....
dest
The wonders of photoshop....
5 minutes later we have Imola and Nogaro!

Looks great, but MANUAL gerbox please!

FCUK ME it looks nice in Noggy.
Looks nice full stop.
quattrokid
wonder if the V10 RS6 engine would fit in it:)
Moonwalker
I'm thinking the redline should give a clue as to what engine is in it. Doesn't the B7 RS 4 rev to 8,250...?

Now I was thinking that!!

Any chance of seeing it in Black!?

thanks .... to be honest I wouldnt mind what colour it was.
buzzard
very beautiful but i agree, should have been a tad more aggressive looking.
This is TOP of the range in sportiness so it should look and perform like it.
GardinerG
Hmmm, they look big enough to be SMIC intakes to me...
Like the car, not sold on the wheels. We will see.
CliveH
It's been a long wait for an RS coupe (there should have been an RS2 coupe variant IMHO), but I'm not convinced I'm taken by this, due to apparent lack of turbos and also looks to be a bit of a big lump for a coupe.
We'll see...
quattrokid
it will selllike hot cakes BECAUSE its an Audi RS
THE CABRIO will be a stunner as well.
A20 LEE
Looks great, it is such a disappointment theres no turbos tho'.
quattrokid
says who?
no engine details yet that I have seen.
your assuming its got a B7 RS4 engine planted in it.
CliveH
That seems to be the general consensus (and the suggestion of the rev counter in the brochure), but I'd be delighted to learn otherwise...
looks to me as the same sort of arches the c6 rs6 has.
looks good in noggy

Apparently it's pretty certain it will have the 4.2 V8 NA with 450PS and 460NM. Also it'll only be available with 7 speed s-tronic at first with manual gearbox coming later.
Contigo
Yep V10 in it is just wrong imo and they are too thirsty.
The motor looks nice though, not sure I'd sacrifice the pracitcality of 4 or a 6 for this though.
Ben H
Looks lovely, but agree on the wheel arches. Looks like it revs pretty high!
loomx
Heres hoping for a twin turboed something.
graemep
I've seen the 4.2 V8 NA mentioned before, and the red line in the pics suggests thats what it will be.
If that's the case I wonder what that one will do on a RR
loomx
360bhp
quattrokid
far too expensive these days.
Mihnea
it will be a V8 NA for sure in this car. Still looking forward to it, as, since the V10 FSI NA engine from the R8/Gallardo, Audi seem to have finally made engines that keep their promises on a dyno.
Paz
Dude have you mapped any of the aforementioned cars yet?
How's the X50, have you killed any more major components on it?? lol
You'll have to take Steph out in it next time you're here . . .

Mate of mine just had his C6 RS6 superchipped and it's mental now, exhaust sound it far deeper and it just pulls brutally. Does anyone on here have a 700bhp C6 yet?
CliveH
Yes, there is

And I can vouch for how well it pulls/accelerates/brakes too !

Tell us more Nigel!

Hi Contigo, what can I tell you... I have a Milltek Cat back which doesn't really effect power but sounds sweet, MRC high flow filters and mapping. Car still drives beautifully and sedate when needed but press the loud peddle and she goes like stink.
Does your mate know what power he's putting out? Pleased with it?
Contigo
Yep about 640 he reckons but not been proved on the RR yet, I'm sure it will get there soon. I saw yours at the surry RR and it was about 640 then wasn't it? Have the High flow's made the big difference?
Nudenut
Yes at SRR mine ran 630 odd I think. The filters I'm told are good for 30ish and combined with the map from MRC takes you up round the 700 mark. Mihnea had put same map on a C6 prev week in France and that ran 725 on the RR over there. I took mine back to SRR to get a direct comparison so was pleased with 695/705PS & 625/847NM... she actually feels a bit stronger now so looking forward to the MRC/SRS RR day in April!!

That's what MRC believe however without RR'ing it after the filter change/pre mapping you wouldn't know for sure... the OE ones that came out are extremely restrictive in comparison TBF.

To get this thread back on topic...
Another indicator of this car receiving Audi's 8 pot offering is the LED's in the front lamp cluster... 10 on the RS6 C6 are to indicate 10cyl so the inclusion of 8 on the RS5 ??
OK, I know it's all to easy to use the same unit as the S5 but thought I'd throw that in there

I need to get out more
quattrokid
IF the RS5 coupe is the sucessor to the Ur quattro... then why the f*** has it got a V8 then !!!!
drop a 5 pot in there and bring up to 450 bhp... easily done these days and bear in mind the rally quattros eventually ran with north of 600 bhp and 700 bhp in the IMSA series I am sure Audi could make a reliable 450-500bhp 5 pot for today's new coupe..
dropping a V8 in it hardly hints at previous history does it!!
Just because (apart from the RS2) EVERY RS since has had a V6 or V8 engine in it doesnt mean to say Audi cant go back into the heritage dept and give this car a bi turbo 5 cylinder engine. The NOISE made the Ur quattro so unique, imagine what it would sound like today with 450 bhp in the RS5..... PURE heaven.
CliveH
Yea, I was hoping that an uprated version of the TTRS 5 pot engine might find its way into this car...
loomx
All I want is any >4pot engine with turbo or two, or a V10... it seems neither
Dude have you mapped any of the aforementioned cars yet?

[OT mode ON]The V10 R8? of course, got 585 out of one with a Supersprint backbox. Stock it dynoed 535.
X50 is still being built, priorities and targets have all changed, so more work is needed, therefore the whole build taking longer. Should hopefully see at least 8xx on 98 RON fuel and whatever is possible on C16.

Crap... no turbos... GUTTED! This could have been the perfect car... what a shame.
