1st UK RS3 delivered...

I had the pleasure of seeing this up close and personal today!

I have to say, it's much better in the flesh than the pics tell. †Shame the lighting wasn't better too...

This particular car will get some staged mods soon too to see what can be done, Kim at QST has already got a Milltek and Map lined up!

Can't wait to see this develop! †

mikey-s

It's pretty slim for an RS!  Where's the fat arches??
pjbRs

got to say it doesn't look that special?

Is there an RS version lol
A20 LEE

Can't the first uk one delivered, i saw one in batley about 6-8 weeks ago, red with the horrible red and black wheels.

To an actual customer as opposed to a dealer.

I've already tuned 2 of them, they do around 420 with a full Milltek
xyber

Between this and that BMW 1 M coupe on top gear last week, I think I'd prefer the BMW looks wise.

I can't get over the lack of bulging arches.
dest

If I saw that go past I wouldnt even give it a 2nd glance!
Looks far too normal to deserve the RS badge
Rasss-4

Lovely looking S3...

Why didnt they just fatten them arches atleast 2 inches, wouldnt hurt would it!
marc1

Does it roll out of the standard Audi production line with the TDI's and TTRS's too or does this one come out of the quattro GmbH plant lkike all the proper RS's?  Think I aswered my own question.  Cracking engine, shame about the looks!
xyber

What's the betting they do a fat arch special edition

What do you think of them?
Mihnea

Unfortunately, I've tuned them remotely, so can't really say much about how they feel, as I haven't been in them. The owners love them, and I personally can't wait to have a go in one, I think it'll have what the TTRS is missing: the "family" car factor, or hot hatch factor, which the TTRS totally lacks, plus TTs have always made me feel almost claustrophobic...
Jonmurgie

meh - nothing special really... waste of an "RS" badge IMO.

Considering their WUAZZZ chassis numbers, I wouldn't call them a waste of an RS badge... now TTRS is a different story... but I'd better shut up before I get flamed by the TTRS boys

The front arches are bulging and made of carbon fibre

I think it looks good in the metal

The problem it has it an. S3 black edition will look identical to a lay man

Will a chipped S3 drive like an RS3?
aka_dk

Don't see why not, there's no fancy suspension on the RS 3

I expect there will be lots of replica RS 3s flying about in time

The only special thing about the RS 3 and the TTRS is that amazing engine

I agree... It's the main reason I bought mine.
leaking headgasket

It does look good, but I heard they have wider tyres at the front and that'll give a weird look I think.
TinTin1201

^ read that also in the press release info ........ weird to say the least,it maybe a couple of mill, BUT still weird??

+.... really wish they had extended the front & rear arches alot more & had a 6x speed box & not the flappy paddle jobby or a least give the buyer the choice!

Went for a run in this car yestarday!

Now has bespoke full Miltek catless system and MTM software/wheels... very impressed!! Takes off like a stabbed rat and sounds awesome!!
AliGod78

Maybe looks better in the flesh as Dave said. Undecided. Looks too normal to me though.

Agreed, the looks are not extreme enough for me but does shift a tad.
stevecuz

Here are some pics of mine picked up last week.

Trust me this is an amazing piece of kit and back to the original ethos of the RS2.

The engine note is stunning, it's a true Q car and you can shift the whole family about with ease.

Welcome Steve. Nice photos. Nice 6 too.
pjbRs

Looks cool in Black/grey, is that Daytona?

close up you can see some nice little touches. I bet it would sound better with a turbo back miltek.
stevecuz

Yes, it's Daytona and in the flesh I think it looks great.

I'll keep it standard for a while anyway

Steve
lynchy

My next car !
stevecuz

You one on order or waiting to pick one up 2nd hand?

Steve
guymcc

stevecuz - how come you have the same number plate on both cars! Oh and loving the booster seat in the front passenger seat! lol the wee one must enjoy going out in the car!
stevecuz

Just took a pic before the reg transferred across!!

Got a booster seat in the back too but the kids want their turn in the racing seats!!!

Got 3 kids and the RS3 can transport them just as well as the RS6 but much cheaper. Got 30.8mpg compared to 18!!

Steve
weta.worker

i just got a call from Audi trying to get my interest on the car

they said they've got 40 arriving at the end of the year (which I thought was pretty late in the game.  but we do have to wait in line and we are at the bottom of the world!) and %70 are spoken for.

I'm not really interested.  Want a newer RS4 or old RS6 in addition to the old B5.

although wanting and getting are sometimes a world away from each other!
James

Looks like an S3
lynchy

They got a black RS3 in west London Audi and im not that taken by it !! Looks too plain for an RS
Nudenut

Nice red one in Southend Audi.
lynchy

I think the problem is when I first saw a B5 rs4 my reaction was WOW what a great looking car and the same with the B7 rs4 but I havent had the same reaction since ! with any rs model !
quattrokid

Spotted a red one tonight on the M8 near jcn 8 heading out of Glasgow

That is one of the main reason why I decided to go for c5 S6 - widened wheel arches. They do stand out and look impressive! For the third cost of RS6 You get basically the same look. In my opinion bumpers and side skirts donít matter so much as widened wheel arches.

Mihnea, Its impossible that you've done two with millteks since kim's car was used to develop the exhaust and Milltek haven't actually put the exhaust in to production yet.

Is your RS3 red with the red and black wheels by any chance?  Think I've seen it around if so...
