ABS sensors. 1 or more?

Folks - front right ABS sensor is showing as faulty. Is it OK to replace just one, or do you recommend a pair or all 4? Discuss.

I have replaced only one at the front before, sometimes you can be lucky and extend their life by just taking it out and cleaning it

cheers

Had any work done on the corner that is showing faulty Rob? Not sure if your abs sensors are push fit or bolt in but on my a6 i knock one in so it was too close to the ring and that through a fault. If yours are bolt in that wouldn't happen so ill shuddup

As you know Jason, I'm not perhaps the most technical person on this site, so have no idea how they fix on (nor what it looks like or where it is). I have been reading a bit more (following some discussions on another forum more specific to the car in question) and I've updated with this.....

The scan said front right, but having read more this afternoon I'm becoming suspicious of damp around the brakes ECU, as it only ever happens just after being washed. I did have some water build up recently from a blocked drain. A day or two later it goes again and is fine. I'll investigate in the daylight tomorrow. Perhaps I should just stop washing it!

To answer your question though, no work done on the front end since I did the new pads 10 months ago I don't think.

Oh well, I'll have a nosey tomorrow.

damp/wet will indicate to me the sensor just needs changing, had it before in another car

Could be. Was my first thought. See the daylight brings.
