Alarm siren

Yip this one again!

Has anyone used the part number 8L0 951 605A as opposed to 8L0 951 605 that comes in our cars?  I read this is an upgrade but don't want to order one if it won't work.

Thanks.
HEKTOR

I'm sure I have 1 at work. I can  have a look for it and check the part number.

Yes mate I put a brand new one from Audi in a month or 2 ago. It works perfect. Only thing you'll need to do is drill out the hole on the existing bracket as the 605a alarm uses a larger fixing screw than the original. Otherwise a very simple fit.

Done, courtesy of a 55 plate TT we have lying here, fitted now and working well, yeah I noticed the fixing was larger but don't have the right drill bit and all the techs have their boxes locked so used good old number plate pads to secure it, nothing beats a free fix, only taken me 4 years to get round to it ha ha ha ha

this is interesting to know! Does this version make a louder noise than a dormouse being gently poked?

Where exactly in the car is placed this alarm siren?
NogaroDrew

In the right hand side compartment in the boot where the warning triangle is kept right at the bottom. That's where it is in an Avant anyway.

So I can reach it without removing the trim, just the lid?
stuartx

Yes, easy enough to get to, it will be under a little piece of removable trim that site in there

thanks mate
