Audi TT RS

Heard today, there WILL be an Audi TT RS

Details a little sketchy at the moment but likely to be an all new 5 cylinder inline turbo engine producing something between 300 and 350 bhp.
Adam

Look forward to seeing some pics...with bulging arches the TT might finally look a bit more macho...the white TTs at Combe yesterday looked so feminine.
Graham

I personally think the MK2 TT is a good looking car. The TT S looks great on the road so I would have high hopes for the RS.

Sounds like it might be quite a tuneable engine

350bhp...doesnt sound much considering Audi was pushing a reliable 600 bhp from a smaller engine

450 sounds about right
James

Yeah i agree 450 BHP more like it

340bhp, but still 0-60 in 4.something, with a map and exhaust would be interesting to see what it gets.
James

Do you still need to be a hairdresser?
Adam

Hopefully this one will be 'beefy' enough to dispell that image
ScottR

It will never shake the hairdresser's/air steward's image, but I think it will be a future classic.

Will certainly be one for fools like us (albeit the fruitier ones or Liwi) who are willing to throw ridiculous sums of money to modify them.  Seems rude not to if it's got a turbo on it.
Paz

Clubsport spec would be ace.

I wonder what a nice mkV would be like with that engine . . . ?
quattrokid

isnt the Clubsport coming as a limited production run anyway?
CliveH

Looks good to me unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show?

Is it permanent 4 wheel drive or the haldex system? I think previous TT's have been haldex?

Thank you

same engine as destined for the RS5...?
jeffw

Ummm...not likely.  The current S5 is the 4.2 V8, the S5 Cab is the 3.0 V6 Supercharged so i guess it would be one of those ....or maybe not !
CliveH

yea, scratch that Jeff, getting a bit confused (and excited) with all these new RS's...

NA V10 is another possibility though (for the RS5 that is)
DavidT

I think that 3.0 V6 is the future, it could be supercharged & turbocharged TT RS will be a very good car too.
Adam

Isn't the RS5 going to be a twin turbo V8?
CliveH

who knows?  all still speculation at the moment, Adam
jeffw

Certainly something they could transplant out of the TT into a RS3...
Adam

Mmmm..RS3 Clubsport
