AudiSRS @ GTI International 2016 - Sat 9th July

AudiSRS @ GTI International - Saturday 9th July 2016

GTI International 2016
Shakespeare County Raceway, near Stratford-upon-Avon
Saturday 9th July

Now in its 29th year, GTI International is Britain’s biggest and most successful event for enthusiasts of the Golf GTI and other related high-performance VW Group models.

Last year’s event at Shakespeare County Raceway was a great success.

This year’s event promises to be even better than ever before, with GTI International building upon the usual wide range of popular features. The main focus of attention is the quarter-mile Sprint track where visitors to the event can test the acceleration of their cars against the clock on a proper drag strip with world-class timing, watched by a huge crowd from the 3,000-seater grandstand.

http://www.gtiinternational.co.uk/

AudiSRS will have a club stand as usual. However while the show remains a two day event as per previous years, AudiSRS will only have a forum represented and branded display on Saturday 9th, due to us also supporting the new VAG Tuner Live event this year. See separate thread for VAG Tuner Live if you would like to join us for a full weekend of action.

Buy tickets and your quarter mile passes here:

http://www.gtiinternational.co.uk/tickets/

Club stand passes are via advance ticket purchase only. Make sure you choose AudiSRS.com from the club display menu.

There is always disappointment nearer the time with people that have left it too late to get a stand pass. If you want to attend, make sure that's not you!

Note: Helmets are compulsory for the quarter mile as is having covered arms and legs.

Start a list/add your name to the list if you will be joining us on the Saturday

That's right. Nobody set out for the two events to clash, but none the less they do. So we'll have our usual attendance at Inters on the Saturday, but will then be at VAG Tuner Live on Sunday, to also show our support to this new event, which we have no doubt will be a hit.

Personally I think the combination of both events will make for a fantastic weekend overall for those hardcore enough to make both

Please keep the list going if you are attending with us on the Saturday:

GTI International is a two day event as usual (Sat + Sun). However our club attendance is Saturday only, as on the Sunday we are supporting the new VAG Tuner Live event at Donington.

Have your pal drop gti@autometrix.co.uk a quick mail explaining he already bought a ticket and ask for a AudiSRS club display pass. He is welcome to join us.

Sunday we are at VAG Tuner and the details are here: http://audisrs.com/about63659.html

Will be bringing vcds with me as I'm going to unplug the abs unit so the EDL doesn't hamper things

Also would like a log of a run but will need a passenger who's able to log the run for me
Noyjatat

Your not allowed passengers at Inters buddy
Challice

Ah OK have to log it myself then
Mspratts4

Was bought tickets and runs as a gift, can I still get on stand or not?

Unfortunately the marshals will only allow you through on the day with a pass. Email gti@autometrix.co.uk, explain you have a ticket but need a pass to park with us and I am sure they'll help

Make sure you order your tickets and add the club pass before then!
Mark

I'm booked.

Probably not my place but if you want to get to the club stand rather than general parking just say you are going to do sprint runs.
Graham

Anyone that has bought a ticket but forgotten to request a club pass, please PM me your name and address before Monday evening.

Graham

A reminder you need arms and legs covered for the 1/4 mile, as well as your driving licence. Helmets mandatory also.

We will have some spare club passes on the day, so if you want to join us please do. If you advise the marshalls you want to take part in the sprints, you should be allowed through opposed to public parking.
NogaroDrew

What time you guys aiming to be there?
Challice

Bit of a sucker for me

Ran up the car to go an run and it started playing up so long story short the temp sensor has gone again so I had to run with the sensor unplugged

This will be adding fuel as the ecu now thinks the engine is running in -45deg C

So ran 12.825 @ 107.57mph so not faster than last time but still respectable considering the power

Also ran with the ABS unplugged as this disables the electronic diff lock which was a lot better as last time I could hear and feel it cutting in

Just need to get another sensor and look into why its gone already
Challice

Didn't take many pictures at all

Mint Mk2 Rallye very rare now would love one

Flames from mine

NogaroDrew

Strange that the temp sensor has given up the ghost already. Still it looked fast up the strip, was impressive
Challice

Thanks yeah as it was a genuine sensor not been in for more than 2 months
Graham

A great day. A few pics...

Nez
