AudiSRS @ Silverstone Classic 2016 - July 29/30/31

AudiSRS @ Silverstone Classic 2016

With your support, 29/30/31 July AudiSRS will return to the Silverstone Classic with a three day club display of classic and performance Audi.

http://www.silverstoneclassic.com

The Silverstone Classic is the second largest annual event at Silverstone (second only to the British Grand Prix), with circa 100K+ people visiting over the weekend. Car clubs are a massive part of Silverstone Classic with over 120 car clubs attending from all over Europe (a reported 10,000 cars).

This is an action packed three day event, on a scale quite hard to comprehend until you have attended.

Three days of racing, paddock walks, auctions, aerial displays, live demonstrations, trade stands, food and drink, live music and of course club stands.

We hope you will join us for this highlight event.

I am looking forward to seeing this. Yours won't be alone either, we have another RS 4 cab joining us as well †

On that note we have more cars booked than the show of hands in this thread. If you are joining us, please do post in here to say so. We don't bite and it helps us. Thank you.

Lastly a reminder this is advance ticket only, with the cut off strictly 31st May. The lowest early bird prices are until the end of March (this month) only.

Just a small taste of last year (this really is just a glimpse)...

If anyone is unable to go and wants to sell their ticket message me.
Thanks

Less than a week to go!

Those joining us for display should have their tickets and joining instructions by now (direct from Silverstone Classic).

As a reminder we are in light blue zone 8. Use entrance 5 (main gate) and follow the directions.

You must arrive prior to 9:30 as there is not meant to be infiled vehicle movement ater 10am. Gates open at 7:30.

A map of the club area we are located in, for a better idea once you arrive, or if you are visiting us over the weekend:

Again for those displaying, please use this car spec template if you wish to do so:

http://files.audisrs.com/events/SRS_spec_sheet.docx

Lots of people seen reading these last year (a general motoring event so not everyone familiar with fast Audis), so worth the effort to complete and print

That refreshing aspect is a big part of the appeal of the event for me. It's great to be there representing performance Audi enthusiasts, but it's also very nice to be at an event that is not exclusively Audi or VAG. The variation and scale at the SC has to be experienced to be believed.
Professor Peach

I shall be there Friday with my mate in his Esprit Turbo HC (it is rather pretty). I'll wander over to see Germany's finest of course. It s such a great event this one.
HPsauce

If you're on the Lotus Drivers Club stand it's in the same area. See you Friday Rob!

Must be serious, I even purchased some wax polish today (and applied it!)
mikey-s

Bit of a late booking for me, will be there on Saturday, will no doubt bump into some SRS guys.  See you there.

I already had tickets bought by a friend 6 months ago, is there anyway of getting access to go infield sunday?

Only of we have a drop out and the pass gets handed on to us. So slim unfortunately, but if we can we will.
scooby

thanks

have PM'ed you my email address just in case

I'm not going to be there on Friday now and it's looking unlikely the car will be ready for the stand on Saturday.

Im after a ticket/club stand pass for Sunday if anyone cant make it or has a spare place.
     Please PM me.

How was the first day!?!

My S4 is all prepped and ready to go can't wait until tomorrow
HPsauce

Well, there were more Ford GT40's on their stand than Audis on ours..... (5 vs 4) so hopefully more tomorrow!
(Though there were only three on the "other" Audi stand - Quattro Owners)

First time I've been, didn't realise how big it was and how close you can get to the teams in the paddock/pits!

My ears are still ringing from standing next to a V12 Ligier as they fired it up. That was PAINFUL. †
Graham

The Friday is always the quieter day for all the clubs Andrew.  Tomorrow everything gets in full capacity. What a great day it was though, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Here's a few unprocessed shots of the stand and a few other Audis. Will sort my other pics another time.

Back tomorrow bigger and better for more!

Graham wrote:

Obviously I know that, I guess Audi owners are mostly busy at work on a Friday! † †Unlike other owners..... †

Have a great time at the weekend, sorry I can't be there but I have a big Indian wedding (Sat) and my elder son's birthday bash (Sun) to attend. †

Glad you found the Quattro club Graham. †

PS Got my AITP tickets in todays post. †

PPS How did you manage to take pictures of all those new Audis around the Silverstone balloon/dome building thing without including the "eye candy" that was lurking with intent.... (at least when we were there)
TurboTy

A great first day, so much to see!

Great to meet some of you today, it sounds like we were down on numbers so hopefully can put some more names to faces to cars tomorrow!
mikey-s

What a fantastic day!   One of THE best car shows I've ever been to - and should be for £65!   Absolutely massive,  and such a variety.

We can't shout that loud enough Mike. Such a fantastic event, words don't do it justice.

Glad you had a good day. Yes we were down on numbers which is disappointing and surprising given the cost of tickets and the fantastic weather.

Hopefully today will be stronger, the weather looks set to be great again.

DavidT is your AudiSRS host today.

An awesome day! I bought the family along this year as it has kid friendly stuff to do and they loved it and can't wait for next year! although I think we'll do two days next year and stay local as there was so much to do and see as we only did around 30% of it!!

Thanks to Graham and David for organising and supporting this event.

It would be good to see maybe Audi UK supporting this? Hopefully they will see the business and PR opportunity to be part of this like other major manufacturers!?

mikey-s

@ Graham,  in case you didn't know,  that was me on the way out in the black S4!

Ahh I did wonder. Glad you waved

So despite numbers on the display a little under what was due, the event was bustling and the stand very busy with people and lots of interest

A great thumbs up for organising the gathering and the welcome was glad to attend but next year must go for two days there's just to much to see in one day. looking forward to the next gathering at ATIP8 see you there.
HPsauce

Couldn't agree more, well done Dave and Graham. †

As for attending for longer, I'll do my best next year. One thing about the Friday, and I don't know if this applies as much on Saturday/Sunday with more people, was that you could not only get into the paddocks but also no-one minded you going into the pit garages themselves, as long as you were courteous and kept out of the way.

My ears are STILL ringing somewhat from that V12 Ligier firing up..... †
scooby

we went sunday and you could still walk in the pits or we did!

Bumped into Freddy Hunt ... spitting image

Couldn't make the event this year, the wife and i were in Spain the same weekend. Was that Frank Wrathall in Pirro's A4?
Zildjian

Looks like a damn fine non-chavvy day out
Nobby

Gutted I couldn't make it. Drove back from Norwich along the A43 just as it was closing on sunday and saw some lovely looking cars.

I'm putting it in the diary for next year now.
DavidT

Thanks everyone for supporting the event

So much to see and do: Car clubs, racing, auctions, the paddock, concerts, beer, air displays etc. etc. It's a super weekend
