Autosport International Show 2016 - pics

For David and I a day out to the Autosport show kick starts the year with some of the behind the scenes planning, relationship building and inspiration that goes into running the forum.

I personally recommend the show for a good day out for anyone interested in motorsport, track driving, tuning or modification. So most of you I imagine

Open to the public Saturday and Sunday, so get along if you want.

To give you an idea, here are a few of the pics I took. Just a taster, there is a lot more to see.

If you see a Force India F1 car, don't look to closely. Spent 3 days converting a 3yr old car to look a bit like last yrs car with no time or money to go the job.

The classic row of cars really brought home some memories

especially for me  the Renault 5 GT turbo

looking at it now, some 20 years from owning one, it just makes me smile/cringe in equal measure tbh

I still would like the keys to it tho!

Wouldn't we all Mike, worth a bit now

Great pictures Graham, thanks for sharing.  Is the first picture an RS3? The picture confused me, I think it looks a little like one from that angle (but I really like it, I usually dislike them). On the other hand the front end, lights etc all look C7 RS6.  So maybe it's just the angle that makes it look smaller?

Yes RS 3.

RS3 - The RS3 facelift looks basically a RS6 mini-me just like the new TTRS looks like a R8 mini-me.

I like both cars but making them mini-clones of the bigger cars doesn't do it for me.

Autosport - I went in 2014 and the line up was fantastic, especially the Guest Speaker area. It was good to actually get to speak to the designers/engineers on the "parts" stands like Brembo, Bilstein etc and I got some great info from them. I was away for 2015's and completely forgot about this years until I just saw this thread so it's something I really want to get back to for 2017.

Doesn't look at all bad there.

Really should go to this one year.

Though Hi-spec could have made that sticker on the red 8 pot caliper follow the contours ofthe cut out

Yes, will go again as good blend of stuff to engage in (even better if you have money to burn!)

Plus the promotional staff were easy on the eye
