B8 RS4 spec questions

I'm looking for an RS4... but I would appreciate some help on what options are best suited to my needs.

So for context, I want a 2014/15 car with sub 20k miles. It will be a daily drive for the next 6/7/8 years doing 12k miles per annum including winter trips to the Alps. As such my focus is on comfort (e.g. preference for 19" rims) and simplicity (e.g. no DRC in case of reliability issues).

This leads me to the following ideal spec and some questions for those with experience:

Black or grey - which black is best?
Black optics pack
Standard sports seats, black leather.
Heated seats - I think this was an option rather than standard?
Standard 19inch rims - will I get snow chains on this these or is there a winter wheel option?
Standard suspension - how does this compare in comfort terms to the various modes on the DRC based sports suspension?
Sat Nav: is the sat nav upgrade a must?
Panoramic sun roof - is this worthwhile?

And perhaps most importantly, what much have options am I missing?

I'll probably buy from a main dealer, is this worth the premium for warranty etc?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

PS if anyone knows of a car for sale in this spec, please shout.

Thought about an S4 if its simplicity and comfort you want unless you want the V8?

I think all B8 RS's have the DRC and there wont be many with the 19in wheels either.

Thanks for the response.

Sorry, I should have qualified "relative' comfort and simplicity! It has to be an RS4.

I'm pretty sure there was a sports suspension option which had DRC and standard suspension is good old fashioned passive springs and dampers. But ready to stand corrected...

They all have drive select and damper control, but the option sports suspension plus gives DRC.

Heated seats indeed optional.

For me B&O would be on my shortlist. I like advanced key too, but if I had never had it wouldn't miss it (not true now I have had it).

If you fit in them comfortably I think the buckets will make the interior feel more special, but the standard supersports are nice as well.

The PDF brochure can still be downloaded from Audi.co.uk so grab one and see what other options you want to look out for.

For me I would rather more tech (like high beam assist or adaptive cruise) than the roof.

Thanks for this.

So my thinking so far is that I want a MY2014 black car without DRC, with black leather and heated seats. All other options are a bonus, and if I end up with 20inch rims I can probably swap them out with someone with 19's. Job done.

Anyone got one for sale?!
Graham

I've seen a good few on 19s so they are out there.

Good choice, if you can find one without DRC it will be a rare car but I'd definetly hold out.

Personally I'd go:

Panther Black
Pan roof
Supersport seats with alcantara inserts
Reverse camera (parking plus)
20's (Comfort is fine and they fill the arches better)
Privacy Glass
Heated seats
B&O
You should be able to pick up a used sports exhaust if you want a little more noise but not intrusive.

That's all you need really, the advanced key can be troublesome and if you don't have the DRC it's one less thing to worry about.

Good luck with the search, they are great cars.
