Been in a TTRS

There brilliant. †Definately quicker than a std RS4 B5 and B7, handling wise you'll get killed if you try to chase one. †Very impressed and not sure i like my B5 anymore...  Remap time i think!
RS4Jules

Really,there that good ?
They do look pretty cool, defo more aggresive than the old tt.

They seem quite common has well not to mention what they would be like remapped.

yes they are good but also we look at RS4's through rose tinted glasses.  The TTRS is very chuckable, more torque at low rpm's which make it awesome on real A to B roads as you don't need to wind it up like B5's and B7 + 200kg lighter.  Mine felt like a clumsy old barge after the TTRS.
loomx

I definetly like the idea of them, and more torque lower down than a†B5 makes me happy, thats what I love about the B5, so much pull for no revs , never driven a standard B5 though so I have never really experianced the need to "wind it up"

Any ideas on what the internals can hold yet cue turbo changes hehe.

I will definetly be looking at them when they drop in price.
A20 LEE

Only negatives, being picky was it did run out of puff top end and I'd definately throw a set of thicker ARB's on it.
TinTin1201

Really nice car !,but just abit too common, every one knows, what a TT looks like New Mod Or old.
The TTRS is special, but unless your really a Petrol head or work for Audi,it's hard to spot it from a normal TT.

Biased here....... The RS4 shape just makes it that much more special !! IMO.
missmouse

mate has just got one, he reckons it would eat my RS4! yet to be proven in real conditions tho!

Very much doubt if it is 4 times faster tho- thats how much more it cost! LOL! Nice car but not worth the ££££!
I saw a Lambo for the price he paid!
quattrokid

a white TTRS roadster is sat in Ayr Audi for 51 GRAND

10k more and your into the oldest R8's territory !!!!!

More torque than a B5? You mean standard or remapped? Mine (which is as close to an RS4 as possible) has 470 lb/ft @ around 3200rpm? To be fair you would need to compare a remapped one to mine. But of course 200kg's lighter means it doesn't need as much torque!

Handling wise I am sure it will blow any B5 (no matter how well sorted) away.

A standard one, TTRS has 335lbft @ 1600rpm.  You could feel the TC trying to stop all four wheels lighting up on roundabouts and pulling away.  My B5 is due a service this month then it will be mapped!

It certainly makes damn good torque down really low - but then flattens out pretty quickly - even with a remap. Must be great as a 'point and squirt' device
ANDY S2

Nice 2.5 5cyl in there but would be ineresting to see if its as bullet proof as the early 20v 5pots ,same sought of bhp as my S2 but less torque ,would be interesting comparison on the strip ,no bends though lol.
jamiekip

I can echo this, mines just finished running in and it is a real rocket
Milltek Race system on order and improved ARB's and that should tide me over until the established companies have tried and tested remaps in place

Its 200kg lighter with more torque and lower down the rev range. †Rolling roads have shown they actually nearer 370bhp/380lbft! At GTI Internation this year they mullered everyone, even dipping into the 11's with only 430bhp. †Its a proper bit of kit It does drop off a little top end like and S3 does but thats the price you pay for all the bottom end and mid range grunt.
dest

Its one of those cars I really want to like, and part of me does due to the 5 pot and some of the styling.... but it will always be a TT, and I simply do not like them!
TTS Justin

TTRS sounds meaty with the Milltek race system

Did quite nicely on the GTI sprint also

We have been amazed how well the TTRS has performed. When we ordered it we never dreamed it would be this good! Everything comes together nicely, in terms of handling and performance.
However we would say in their standard form they need some tweaking, but thats the name of the game!

They are manual.

We were launching at about 5k.
We must have done about 30 runs each day, so 60 over the 2 days.
Clutch slipped once but was fine again when cooled down.

The uprated haldex controller really helped. They just hook up so well on gear change. The other thing we have found is the peak bhp is about 5200rpm and it holds peak power for about 1500 revs. Thats why they are good on acceleration.

We are meant to be doing a day called V-maxx at Bruntingthorpe on saturday, it is a terminal speed test over 2 miles, interested to see how it gets on.

I've had the pleasure of driving the TT Shop's TTRS which is a "little" bit modified... stunning to say the least. I think it's got about 440bhp or something at the moment but drives soooooo nicely.

recent convert to TT-S

Hi A20 Lee.

know what you mean had a S4 B5 for over 9 years / 205k miles loved it, until forced to change "rear end write off".

Now got a TT-S, know it's not a TT-RS but it's still quicker than my standard S4.

It's the speed between corners and boy can you throw it around compared to the S4.

Kind of wondering what it might be like to have TT-RS now.

I know this isnt a B5 but if you "sort" any car ( this is after all B5's ancestor -an 80 coupe!) you can deffo make it go!
