Block not available

Wanted to run some logs on my 1.8T QS. Apparently Block 115 is boost (specified vs actual) on this model. However when I read the block it comes up with 'ERROR' 'Not available'.

Any ideas please - it's not the only block that I get this!

Have you got a fully registered version (none pirate)?
jimbo

knowing daz it will be a pirate, just like him...
bluebrakes

well if its a non-registered version then some functions and blocks might be restricted. I know quite a few things were locked out when i had the freeware version, which prompted me to register it.
DW

It's the real deal from ross tech.

@ Jimbo - my dog say's your cards are marked
bluebrakes

well he's certainly giving the look.

What year is the car?  Some of the pre 1999 cars didnt have this block available from memory.  My old A4 1.8 T sport from 1996 didnt have it and my mates 1.8T passat from 1998 doesnt have it either.

Year 2000.

Your car probably has drive by cable and therefore no MAP sensor and no possibility to display any boost info. You need a proper boost gauge for it

Post up the ECU part number from a VCDS fault code readout if you want to be sure of it, but I'm 100% sure that this is why you can't see boost...

Cheers,

Thanks Mihnea!

It is DBC - I assumed it was DBW.

Currently the throttle angle is not getting above 83.3 with foot buried to the floor. Now and again it shows itself in enrichment mode but most of the time it's in partial throttle mode - sensor problem? No fault codes!

Throttle cable adjustment?
DW

Without getting someone to press the accelerator pedal (which I will do) the butterfly plate moves freely and fully. What I don't understand is how is a TBA done on these models. On the S4 doesn't the TBA using VAG COM cycle the motorised butterfly and learn the position. If the 1.8T is DBC then how does it work or how do you do a TBA?
DW

Seems the 1.8t can carry out a TBA via VAG COM as the TB is motorised and can be initiated accordingly. Audi could have gone the full hog and done DBW.
Mihnea

The TB is only motorised for idle control, nothing else, so TBA doesn't bring much unless it's out of whack... 83-odd % throttle opening sounds about right for the DBC 1.8Ts if memory serves (not as good as it used to be)
DW

So 83.3 is the new 100

So when the Throttle angle is reading 83.3 it should be in enrichment mode - which it's not - it's in partial throttle mode
