good bye C6, hello C7

Well after an eventful year with the C6, having pilled on 23k it was time to move on. took delivery last week and all I can say is wow, great car really enjoying it, think I'm going to rack the miles up quick time...........!

Will post better pics when its been detailed but here are just a few from my first few days of ownership.

Was lucky to land a car with a very good spec and at a relatively good price.

spec is;

Special paint – black rock
Air Sports Suspension
Head up display
Soft close doors
Advanced reversing camera (forget official name)
Lane assist
B&O
TV & DVD
Adaptive cruise
Keyless go
Sports Exhaust
Laminated/insulating glass
Spare set of winter wheels with tyres
2 years manufacturer’s warranty - still remaining!

Hello mate, not back full time as work down south now but back, as in back together! Let's have a look at your 4, good to see you back in an RS. The multispoke wheel is nice but sometimes looks a bit small. Not sure if should get some 21s......

That's good to hear Calum, what miles is she running now? Would love to see her in the flesh again one day. You done any additional mods or repairs/maintenance since you've had her?

That's stunning and very good spec too

How does it compare to your C6?  Currently thinking about a C6 for a couple of years until C7 depreciation has done its thing a bit more, but the lure of the newer tech is quite high.....

Mate you have to get a C6, that V10 is very, very special. It's all about the engine in that car. I had mine on MTM lowered sports springs with ceramic brakes with a custom catback exhuast from Demand Engineering and all I can say is it felt like an event each time I drove it loads of character and emotion. Handling wise suppose you would compare it to a boat but the car is not about that it's about destroying motorways etc -  big distances were nothing to the V10 - I did 23k in mine in less than a year!

C7 is a total step change in every single way tech is on another level,  comfort with air suspension is like being in a 7 series but can still mix it in the twisties. Build quality feels like it's made from stone. The gearbox is like a machine gun punching through the gears the surge is relentless.

I have a sports exhaust but it's to quiet and 99% of the time I'm just cruising around -  honestly if you didn't put your foot down you'd think it was a 2ltr tfsi.

It's just to refined actually need to open that exhaust up and get some noise etc -  that's my only gripe - the C6 was loud but not obtrusive thus made u go for it most times just to hear it - maybe I need to go custom?!

Good to hear mate, I thought I recognised the location.
I'll keep an eye out for you, I had a weekend test drive in the '6 and found the ride pretty good on the 21's but the 20's have mega concave and suit the car IMO.

Here's mine. If you don't see it you'll hear it first.

To be honest I haven't done many mods, I've just kept her ticking over and spent a lot on maintenance. Gearbox been refurb'd, clutch done, steering rack and alternator done, 034 control arms all round, replaced rear ARB with O34 one as Hotchkis bushes kept wearing, B7 brakes replaced all round and loads other small bits and bobs. Next up is a cam check, turbo's and respray as looking a bit tired in patches.
