Insurance Abroad

Hi

General insurance question..

I'm looking to spend a month in Norway and am looking into the potential of buying a cheap car in Norway to run for a month as hire cars are really expensive. Would sell the car on when we return.

It it possible to insure from the UK or would I have to get a Norwegian insurance policy?!..

Any general thoughts would be appreciated.. Thanks..

I'm afraid you can only insure UK registered vehicles in the UK. You could potentially take your own car to Norway for 30 days under your UK insurance policy though, if that's an option.

Cars are very expensive there.

If you considered driving over from the UK, try this ferry.

DFDS Torline +4631650863

It a cargo ship with limited passenger spaces and it goes from Immingham/Tilbury to Gothenbourg Sweden not too far from the border. I use it 4-5 times a year to go there.
