Introducing the project LO750 "Hulk"

We proudly present our latest project car "Hulk"

Based on an S4 sedan this project is equipped with the complete range of LOBA products.

The engine has just made its first few hundred miles but I can already say this thing is a monster!

We will post more pictures and information soon.
Also, we will keep you updated on the most interesting matter - the performance

aposegil

very nice

can I ask what front calipers and dics you are using?
aemkej

Those are Porsche 993 GT2 4-pod calipers with Porsche 322 x 32 mm discs.
audimad100

Movit set up by the looks, 993gt2 calipers but size discs?
iR8V10

Cool, look forward to seeing more...
BennyBoo

Nice motor..

supersi

I can see now looks good, I like the carbon hood too,be good too see the engine bay and look forward too the dyno graphs, exhaust looks nice and like the grilles not being present makes the intercoolers stand out
Laaf

Any build pics and movies of the monster? And with the name Hulk, I thought it to be more green

You haven't seen it angry yet!

How come you don't have bonnet pins?  I read there was a risk of carbon bonnets popping open at high speed without them.  Looks good though.  Can't wait to see the dyno results.
supersi

Are the SMIC's  on the hulk tube+fin type ? As in your pdf file,I've read this type of intercooler is a lot more efficient type of intercooler than the bar and plate most use, what's your findings on them

Si
aemkej

The SMICs

First of all thanks everyone for your positive feedback.
We feel flattered and honored indeed and hope not to disappoint the expectations

Alrighty... here's chapter I of the development

Si already referred to the intercoolers in his last comment.
Yes - those are tube+fin type SMICs.

Yet are those intercoolers still prototypes which are now to prove that they are worth the investment We will have first results very soon teaching us how much more efficient this type of IC is than a bar and plate type.

THIS article will explain the features much better than I could with my English :-/

Another look at the funnel-shaped inlets

You can clearly see the little slits in the fins here.
These slits increase the intercooler's efficiency by generating additional vorticities passing through the rows.

The tubes are designed to provide maximum air flow and reduce air resistance.
supersi

I Very much like the look of those SMIC's ,
tdiquattro

I run those........................ have been for 3 years.
supersi

tdiquattro wrote:

Are yours custom made?
tdiquattro

Modified, 2 identical single side mounts for a jap car (skyline), just the inlet and outlet re-positioned slightly.

I had this idea years ago, bigger isnt better, more efficient is better. - but very expensive.

I would definitely fit some bonnet pins (I did!)....carbon bonnets flex and have been known to pop open at speed....

5potmad

F.U.C.K!!!!!!!!!!!!
aemkej

Yep... Especially dangerous since there are no speed limits on our highways. Don't want to see the hood popping at 160 miles plus.
That's why the pins are already on their way. The hood will be replaced by another one, too.
aemkej

Here's today's update. The cylinder heads' buildup in many many pictures.

mikey-s

Seriously turned on by those pics..

10th picture from the bottom.. is that a special tool for collet fitting??

Thanks for compliment...

Yes thatīs right. Itīs a special tool for fitting valve collets in.

All you have to do is insert the valve incl. retainer into the cylinder head,
insert the velve collets into the tool, ajust the tool and press down the lever. Valve must be fixed.

Very efficient and quick.

Regards,
Darius

audimad100

you only have to look at the floor, it looks like this engine is being re-built in a sterile enviroment. first class work chaps, the hulk looks and animal looking forward to the figures

supersi

Loving this build   ..as Audimad said... looks like a f1 workshop .. Awesome keep the pictures coming and keep up the good work
aemkej

Thank you guys. We truly appreciate your comments.
More pictures coming up tomorrow morning
Manifolds, turbocharger buildup and clutch
audimad100

do you need my address to post the engine
pjbRs

Wow nice set up you have there, not a fan of the carbon bonnet, but your attention to detail is fantastic.
Great pictures too, keep them coming.
aemkej

Here's our next part. The 2 disc Sachs RCS200 kevlar pad clutch kit with LOBA 31CRV9 steel flywheel (7kgs).
Made in co-operation with Sachs this is in fact Sachs' very first kevlar pad clutch! This clutch will hold 1000+ Nm (738 ft/lbs).

audimad100

stunning bit of kit Micheal, your machining work looks first class. keep the updates coming
BennyBoo

Pure sex...
aemkej

So... uhhmm.. what's next? Oh, yeah... The manifolds!

These exhaust manifolds deserve a brief introduction

Made of cast 1.4848 steel they are certified to withstand a permanent temperature of 1100°C. The durability of the material is outstanding. One could virtually expose the headers to 1100°C for 20 days and more.
They certainly make a big difference to regular cast steel D5S which can only withstand a maximum permanent temperature of 950°C.

Another advantage of these manifolds is their construction.
Designed in CFD to generate a swirl in the header additionally accelerating the exhaust gas they augment the gas flow and thus tap the turbine's full potential.

And here's how they come out when CFD designing is done and approved by our chief engineer

supersi

Awesome pictures , I think you could do a loba calendar with these photos
aemkej

Today we want to complete the engine buildup with the installation of the turbos and downpipes.

The LO750 turbos are our top RS4 turbochargers at the moment. Already been selling to contented customers and hoping for more people to become fond of these two babies

Here's what it looks like when Darius gets down to work

What the turbos look like when assembled is familiar by now, huh?
Well then let's skip that step and see what they look like when attached to the manifolds

Flywheel and turbos

Clutch installed

Final adjustments

Downpipes and intake pipes assembled

Note the LOBA engine mount bracket to make room for the intake pipe.

Thanks everyone for coming back so often to view our project's pictures.

Y'all have a nice weekend
Laaf

Looks great!
SJS

Wow...excellent pictures of what looks like a monster build.  Good luck!
mikey-s

This thread should be for adults only! Great build, can't wait to see the results.
pjbRs

Really impressive project car, lots of expensive looking parts. Loving the pics.
supersi

Is this a 3 litre ?
BennyBoo

I'd like to win the Lotto now please.

Thanks
Matt_D

Oh my god i've just.....

aemkej

You can find our price list right here

The airbox is not listed yet. Will work on that and inform you a.s.a.p.

I think the airbox will folw enough for more than 1000hp.

Yes, itīs a replacement air filter.

I was told years ago the STD airbox on the b5 is a very efficient and a good design

Darius is the replacement airfilter paper or foam type ?

Some new pics coming ups soon. HULK's sleeping at the moment, as one of our technicians is on a holiday. So we all need to be a little patient until we finally get to see some figures

Darius,

I'm Stefano from Milan Italy (faratech srl) we have bought your Turbo LO510 and the downpipe for andream88 and for his RS4 last July .
I've seen the picture only today on RSQuattro.de forum and here !!

I think that this is the best tune for Audi RS4 in this moment.

Very compliment !!!
andream88

Glad to see you've finally joined the forum, Ste!

Are those intake pipes custom work or the same you have in your part list for 490€? If these are not custom I assume the engine mount bracket is included/needed with the intake pipe kit?

Hey Mikse,

these intake pipes were custom made for HULK as well as the mounting bracket.
Since we removed the AC compressor we had space left to re-shape the intake pipe to increase flow before the turbo and create a new mounting bracket.
The intake pipe kit we offer, however, is designed to fit the stock mounting bracket incl. the AC compressor so our customers do not need to bother about a new mounting bracket and/or do without the AC function.

No worries - our intake pipes will absolutely provide enough flow for 750+ hp.

Darius

any updates on this?

I have a S4 and want to reach the same power with your parts.

What parts do i need to get it?

There are some people that state it is not possible to get such power with only k04 and that i need k16 for a power of 750hp.

There are some dynos for the lo700 which only have 600 or max. 640hp.

it will be good to show these people that it is possible, as for LO700 ive seen a 2.7 car run on a dyno at just under 700 but was not using LO700 BUT a pair of TD stg2 rs6 with billet wheels , these turbos are near the same spec as our LO700

ill send you a PM of all parts your need and price
