Oh yes!! Nice car

Sweet - look forward to seeing this in the metal

That's got the 'morning dew' interior hasn't it?
brasiliangringo

Not sure about specific colour code, but is blue which is frankly a mistake but i have a complete platinum grey half alcantara / leather i might swop into it.

^^^Car certainly seems to have been well maintained. Dont like the fact its on long service intervals, oil needs to be changed more regularly imo but seems to have had all the major things done recently, cambelt brakes new tyres etc which isnt cheap with these babies even if like me you DIY..

still a awesome car! luxury motoring with style/power  for pennys!!!! nice purchase.

You are right, thanks. Its staggering how much car you can get for less than a similarly aged S3. Having just dismantled an A8 to the shell, i was amazed at how much more goes into one of these than say a B5, twin skins on the doors, double glazing etc.

And will you be LPGing this, or did you buy a small trailer with a fuel tank? :p

Lol, makes me look rather contradictory after what we discussed !!
Adrian E

Is it being delivered to you, or do you have to go and collect?

I run mine on v-power and don't better 20mpg at normal motorway speeds    get about 14 around town

On a motorway only run the range is about 350-400 miles

I've been keeping tabs on how much fuel I pour in it and over nearly 10k miles I've averaged 16mpg, which is about as bad as my modded 1969 1700cc Ford Cortina managed when I was at uni lol

You can lpg these, although a neat install takes a bit of effort and most installers don't seem all that bothered about doing a tidy job
brasiliangringo

Yes I need to collect it. Do these need 98 octane fuel ?

Interesting figures on fuel, fortuantely I seem to do little mileage these days otherwise I may be having a shock. My old s4 was pretty dire to. Lpging may be something ill consdier but expect the payback time won't make it worth it given how much I seem to drive.
Adrian E

They don't need 98 but mine has sharper throttle response in mid range running on it rather than 95

When it's a hundred quid to fill it anyway I figure I might as well stick the good stuff in
brasiliangringo

My 1st drive will be the 350mile collection trip, so looking fwd to it !!
brasiliangringo

And yes I just upgraded to aa relay break down in case it all goes wrong and its a lemon !!

Great cars.

Love mine to bits, proper comfy and luxurious.  Even better when I fill up the lpg tank for 45.  Seats are amazing.  Take it its the 4.2 as there is quite a choice of engines..

Get practicing with the tiptronic and you can actually throw them around..

Saved 140 over my best mate on exactly the same trip to AITP so gas will soon pay for itself.

Enjoy mate, awesome motors and only fuel thats the killer and sometimes wonder why you want some horrible French rubbish over one of these...
brasiliangringo

Yes its the 4.2 360bhp version fitted to the final edition. May have to look into the lpg if I can see myself keeping it for more than a few years as just done a few sums on 20mpg average (maybe optimistic given adrians stats) and yup, its not cheap! What gas system do you have? I think the italian make, name I foget now is the better option and there's a chap on here who just had one put on his b6 s4 recently I think.
think_or_thwim

Think its Landi Renzo kit.

Bit of a lash up install but the car had a bit of a melt down and the auto sparky looks to have snipped every wire and reattached it with black insulation tape.  I jesteth Nay!!!

So tempted to start again but "if it aint broke, dont fix it".

Works fine, doesn't like reverse so have to trip it into petrol but does whats it designed to and saves me a mint.  Gets me 42 mpg effectively on a run (21 on the DIS but half price fuel doubles the mpg!)

Love it..  May get it serviced..
brasiliangringo

Doesn't like reverse running LPG - am i understanding you right ? Sounds mighty queer.

Prins is supposed to be pretty good too - chap on the '8 forum is selling his D3 with Prins conversion that he reckons is cheaper to fuel than his old 3.0tdi in fuel terms
