Karis... thinking of you today as you have your operation

Been in touch with Grant to arrange to pass on the money raised at Creiff and ask how is plans in the U.S progressing:

Her operation is tomorrow( now today) when I spoke to Grant on facebook.

just wanted to bring to our forethoughts of the day, what ever your doing, where ever you are, have a few moments  to reflect that most of us was gifted with a working healthy body that we take for granted....

A young girl today is having an operation in the U.S.A to try and help her have a more independant lifestyle and more movement in her limbs.Rest until Friday then 3 weeks of physio before coming home around the 27th April

GOOD   LUCK TO A VERY BRAVE YOUNG LADY.

WE'RE THINKING OF YOU KARIS, Sarah & Grant.

All the best to Karis, I'm glad she is finally getting the treatment she needs, she sounds very brave.

pity the treatment Karis needs isnt available on the NHS hence why the trip to the U.S !

From what I understand of the op the physio and rehabilitation goes on for months, even a year and beyond when back at home. It's a very tough and frustrating time for one so young.

Really wish her the fastest recovery
Graham

Best of Luck from me.  Hope everything goes to plan.

Still very frustrating, given the taxes we pay, that our system sees this little girl's plight as not worthy, when you look at all the money wasted on cosmetic cra* through the NHS!

Best wishes to Karis and her Family.

Thanks to Richard and everyone else for posting up the messages. The operation went well, and she's on day 2 of 3 lying down resting in bed. Tomorrow, she can get up and move around a little and start the initial physio.

She met the famous Dr Park on Monday (prior to the operation,) and his post operative prognosis is excellent, as long as she continues the physio, which shouldn't be as hard as some of the more  physically restricted children.

She's only required to stay in hospital until Sunday 1st, but this time is really tough on the kids, having to stay rested, and feeling sick from all the meds.
