KO4 S4 1999 MRC TUNED 459PS - £4000

I have my S4 for sale in rare Merlin purple. I've owned this car for over 4 years now and its fair to say this is by far the best car I've owned to date. I purchased the car with the KO4 conversion already carried out and have spent a lot of time and money on it under my ownership to improve the basic set up it had.

Itís always been garaged, cleaned regularly and warmed up and down properly.

Itís a 1999 model on a T reg Ė half face lift model with just over 137K on the clock.
Stamped service history up to 119K  (mixture of Audi main dealer & independent garages)
I got the car with 122K on the clock and looked after the servicing from there on.

Mot Expires : 28/07/17

Engine

Genuine KO4 turbos fitted prior to my ownership @ 104K. I donít have a receipt for the turbos but itís detailed in the service book and they have been verified by MRC and The Turbo Unit as being genuine units. I've carried out oil changes twice a year using genuine Audi oil filters and 5W40 fully synthetic Shell helix oil.

Modifications

KO4 turbos inspected and re-sealed by The Turbo Unit @ 129K
RS4 intake pipes
RS4 exhaust manifolds fitted by The Turbo Unit @ 128 0K
RS4 intercoolers with APR silicone hoses for a perfect fit
New RS4 Fuel pump fitted by QST @ 105K
Bigger injectors fitted at MRC
RS4 clutch fitted prior to my ownership
RS2 spark plugs fitted by MRC
Usual XS Power stainless downpipes, decat pipes with flexis welded in, mated to a twin pipe rear section with 2 silencers
Last dyno session at MRC produced 459PS & 678NM with launch control & flatshift

Standard replaced parts

new prv spider hose
new complete set of coil packs and 2 x new boots
new N75 valve
new DV valves
1 x new lobster hose
new lambda sensors
EGT boards replaced for SID boards
second hand refurbished ABS pump
throttle body refurbished
fuel and air filter replaced
new passenger side actuator pressure line
new temp switch
rocker gaskets replaced
gearbox oil & diff oil replaced
Power steering fluid replaced
Cambelt replaced inc new water pump, aux belt and tensioners @ 123K (carried out by Ex Audi master tech)
new battery last year

Suspension, brakes and wheels

Bilstein B8 shock absorbers
H&R lowering springs
H&R anti roll bars with MRC support brackets at the rear
Drivers side rear wheel bearing replaced along with the ABS sensor & camber adjust bolt
Passenger side shock absorber turret replaced Ė the other side didnít require renewal
All front control arms replaced with Lemforder kit
Front brakes upgraded to B6 S4 callipers fitted with new discs and pads
Brake fluid renewed
B6 S4 alloy wheels with federal RSR road legal track tyres
Tracking and camber adjustment last year

Bodywork

Paintwork is in good condition given its age. Would probably benefit from a good mop but she certainly scrubs up well. The only rust I can think of is a small amount of surface corrosion at the bottom of the passenger door and the usual corrosion on the boot plinth.

The front bumper doesnít quite sit right on the drivers side, itís been like this since I fitted the RS4 intercoolers, I can only assume the intercoolers needs adjusting slightly but has never bothered me as my long term plan was to fit a FMIC. Also there is a small amount of damage to the passenger side grill area.

Other than that it just has the usual stone chips etc consistent with a car of this age.

Interior

I'm sure you'll have spotted that it has TQS seats instead of the standard S4 seats. Reason being the previous owner fitted leather seats, however they had seen better days so I fitted these as a short term measure with plans to fit RS4 seats. I have replaced the standard head unit and upgraded the rear speakers other than that the interior is standard and in good condition. Only niggling problem is the middle arm rest has a broken hinge. It still fits correctly and latches down as it should.

So, why is it so cheap? Well recently the car has developed a smoking habit. I've not done many miles since I noticed it and the car still drives perfectly with plenty of power. The car only smokes when warm after a few miles. There are no nasty noises from the turbos or engine. I've briefly looked into it and so far can confirm there is no visible oil in the exhaust and a compression test gave normal results with all readings between 150 Ė 160. There are no engine fault codes on Vagcom. I'm not sure what the problem is and to be honest I was going to sell the car this year anyway so I've decided itís time for a change.

Other known faults with car

Airbag light is now on Ė vagcom shows error codes of :
655365 Internal control module memory error
01218   resistance too high
01217   resistance too high

Alarm siren has never worked under my ownership

DIS has the usual intermittent broken lines, stork reset button also works intermittently

Only 1 Key

Rocker cover gaskets have a slight leak more so on the passenger side bank

Thereís a knock from the drivers side front suspension every now and again. Given that all the control arms have been replaced and covered around 4000 miles I can only put it down to either the shock absorber top mount, track rod end or anti roll bar mounting bushes.

Car is taxed, Motíd and insured so can be driven away at this stage. Iíll leave the S4 FWR registration on the vehicle if I get the right offer.

Car is in Lincoln. £4000 ono Ė will consider sensible offers

Feel free to PM me for more details if required

Thanks

Couple of things I forgot, the troublesome F hose has been replaced for a samco hose and I have all the engine covers, I managed to lose the retaining clips which is why their not fitted.

I've had a couple of questions about the smoking issue, the smoke is white/blue and as said only happens once it's warmed up, when it's cold it only the usual condensation. I've also checked the lower intercooler hoses and there was only the normal film of oil in the pipes

I can vouch for this car, good clean honest example which Cameron has spent a lot of time and money maintaining ..... as said above good project for someone, awesome colour too !!

Thanks for the comments chaps. Just to clarify the price. I've got several people interested in the car. I think £4000 is a fair price for it, I'll be holding out for the full amount. I can't edit my original advert to reflect this

Thanks

Cameron

At that spec it's worth a hell of a lot more in parts! I made more than that on a stock car a year ago!

Lukeyv

What does the colour of the car have to do with it? And you wouldn't have 'had it' as the seller wouldn't have excepted your low offer, as that was the intention.
