My04 RS6 in Daytona grey

Had seen this for sale up in Newcastle aye lol

Had all bits I wanted in one

Solar sunroof was main thing to have & the rare Hitech Recaros are totally another leauge compared to the full leather Recaros

Was actually after a rs4 b5 but what the heck I always loved the rs6

Overall lovely condition and fully serviced

C J

Best colour for one of these!!!

Best seats and best roof too! Lol!

Any plans?!
Shamx1166

Thanks CJ

Yes would love to mod this 1st one would be Manual conversion and turbo back exhaust just to open up its lungs😊

Not seen much info one these as the b5 platform!

Maybe I ain't had a good butchers 🕵lol
IanH755

Nice, I've not seen many with the half & half seats before.

Manual Conversion - There's only a couple in the UK and the average cost for a specialist to convert it was around 10k unless you can do some major spannering yourself. Uses an uprated 01E box IIRC. There's a guy on the "other" forum with a manual one running 700hp-ish which is fun
Shamx1166

Hey thanks on info Ian

The seats have had a lot of praising from b5 owners and they do live up to the hype for a change.

Would love to do some spannering (diy) myself no doubt but not got that much time to commit unless iv still got her in next 10yrs

Love your c6 rs6 😍

How was the c5 rs6 with stage 1 I'm assuming
Much difference from stock delivery as they are super lag free and smooth.

Also where did you get your map done

I'd only consider MRC tbh but like to hear more...

Thanks
IanH755

Hi Sham - Yeap, MRC ECU & TCU stage 1. The torque increase was a huge grin factor over stock, although to be fair mine came with an unknown crap map already on it and the MRC map was night and day better.

One of my favourite memories was the drive back from MRC after it had been mapped. I stopped at a set of lights with an empty straight road in front of me and as the lights changed I pulled away normally until 5-10mph and then floored it. 10 seconds later I had adrenaline shakes so badly I thought I might have to pull over.

Mapped it was even better than the stock C6 which had 70hp more! I definitely had more fun with the C5 than I've managed so far with the C6 (due to poor location/roads etc) but I don't miss the initial wallet emptying visits to Unit20 & MRC I had to go through to make it a solid car.
Shamx1166

Yes I hope to get a stage 2 Map if anything will wait till I get the supporting mods can't wait to get the blooming uber restrictive down pipes and cats not fussed about cat back as long as centre resonator is off.

Why did you have to visit unit 20 that is one extra long journey there and back home.

Would be nice to get insight on common issues faults they get

I just want to get it running sweet as I gave few high revs for bit of v8 sound but then had coolant leak since last Friday and not driven it since as don't want to blow anything main goal is to get the coolant issue resolved but not found much on the net.

The pink coolant is leaking from front driver side fog light can't find where it's coming from losing a litre after each start up.

will be easy diy fix if anyone has any exoeriame
IanH755

Hi Sham - Have a click on my sig for the full history of mine but Unit20 was for a gearbox change and few other bits while the engine & gearbox was out that I wanted to change due to age rather than condition (lambdas/egts etc).
Shamx1166

Definitely worth the money to enjoy such refined performance as it my most powerful car iv owned and with the potential in this car I'd only take care of it

I have one glitch and that's the drc!!! I'm not sure wether that's the feel of going over awful roads on London but the suspension and pedal give a some type of hydrolic vibration going over the usual rubbish road surfaces.

Is that the general feel of the drc or is it faulty as I would love to put some Coilovers onit to get the right look and feel back.
IanH755

DRC - Been there and done that, ended up fitting Bilstein PSS9's and they were phenomenal compared to shagged DRC

My symptoms were noise on the rears, car feeling "loose" on <20mph corners if you hit a bump/drain etc (felt like a mini-drift) and the car feeling soft in a diagonal line if you push on each corner (other 2 corners felt stiff).

As you're in London you've got AMD in Dartford who can check/regass DRC, MRC in Banbury and I'm sure Camberley Audi garage also do it (lots of RS/R8 experience).

If you decide to replace the Yellow Koni shocks with stock springs is the cheapest (about 1k inc fitting) vs KWv3 & Bilstein PSS9 as the most expensive (2500+ inc fitting). The US forum RS6.com has the most Koni experience if you decide to look into those.
Shamx1166

Ian thanks for the slight insight to the rs world 😉

Been looking at your posts and iv got the bug and will be getting those bits sorted on way to getting the downpipes and Coilovers on and keep it maintained was surprised to hear the difference of power delivery on both C5 & C6 platform of the RS6 and now it has gone back to a V8 4.0TFSI I'd love to see a tuned up C7 on road.

These cars are in a different category like the E63AMG & ///M5 and I really appreciate a well treated piece of machinery

My car has had turbos and gearbox done in 2013 along with cambelt and waterpump and its totally factory one of the reasons I got one is the awesome sound of the twin turbos spooling with a straight pipe from turbo back and it sounded just how I want it. Just beautiful if it's rated better as in more aggressive than the C6 I'm really chuffed as these car in terms of performance are a bargain. As long as the mechanical side is strong.

I have been so busy Iv had time to give to the car as yet but can't wait to get the car on road for a drive😎

Just goin to decide wether I'll be going AMD or MRC as Iv had both my 2.0tsi DSG(Amd) and B5 S4(MRC) tuned by them and both great tuners so looking forward to the U found sound&power it has locked away.

Does anyone know about upgrading injectors on the c5 are they similar to the b5 rs4 as I the USCAR Bosch injectors are a up grade and if so which ones!? 630cc big enough or need bigger for stock turbos.

I want to push the ko4s to limit without pushing too far though.
Shamx1166

My old cars

Just adding some pictures of my old cars all iv recently owned and hoping to stick to the rs6 fingers crossed. 🤘🏻

IanH755

Injectors & Power Levels - Unfortunately because of a mix of the gearbox not being that strong and turbo location (nearly 12in from the engine block) you'll run out of power around 550hp on the K04's. If you go with bigger turbos (TTE650's for example) you should be able to hit 580-600+ and still use the stock injectors.

However for proper power you'll need to swap to a manual and go much bigger on the turbos (Garret GT30's), full fueling (pumps/injectors etc) & cooling etc for 750+hp.

The "sweet-spot" for these tends to be Stage 2 with filters, full exhaust inc downpipes, ECU & TCU map for around 550hp and they sound epic with the downpipes done.

Mapped C5 vs stock C6 - I did a whole post about this when I bought my C6 but, yeap, mapped C5 "felt" faster even though it was actually a little bit slower. A mapped C6 is on a different level though
Shamx1166

Thanks for the details Ian. Seen few of your vids on YouTube and the c6 is epic

The 0-206mph is mind blowing and will definitely be my next car.

Well as for plans I'm looking to get this between 500-550bhp and everything from headers downpipes full turbo back system some good air filters are on my list.

I was looking for Coilovers on gumtree found a cheap set of H&R kit for 350 & was going to put a deposit down until I had a quick peek to find

So it's already got the the pss9 kit I'm assuming so what a touch as the seller didn't even know or mention to me. It's already had the gearbox turbo and cambelt water pump overhauled which give me some room for more improvement

Whole time thought it had the bloomin drc, so I'm now looking for a good exhaust and what air filters are recommended for best gains/sounds are the DVs in need of change too???

Iv had a few spots of oil on my drive not had it inspected but is this a common rs6 mark!

I got some fresh shots since iv bought her..

RS4Jules

Really nice mate and great spec.

Certainly a car I will be getting in the future, but having just bought another
s4 last week and maybe another rs4 today I best hold fire
Shamx1166

Cheers mate

After seeing japs post I'm with the rs4 all day everyday
had a few s4s but the rs4 is the one 😋👍🏿

After owning a few avants the rs4 is the ultimate super hot estate for me.
RS4Jules

Omg😜😜😜😜

What a awesome saloon and now I'm never selling my saloon so I can make mine like just that.

Can see so much hard work blood sweat and love as gone into s4😘

What's been done to that any links to the build mate.

The best any of mine looked was this one I had in 2013
RS4Jules

Yes mate in members rides but im rubbish with updates lol

Only original panel is the roof, ko4,3" downpipes,rs4 wagners, custom exhaust, full retrimmed b7 rs4 interior, r8 ceramics with lambo rear twin brake set up etc etc
RS4Jules

That looks cool ive just bought a silver avant myself
Challice

Nice car, few have cought my eyes lately but not sure I'd get one in the garage
Shamx1166

very nice only thing I have right now is the injectors which will only go in once I got the other bits together.

Here's my current B5

Keeping it Oem atm

Ta mate

True the costs of maintaining can be a offput but I'm sure we will see more in the diy section

As long as main work has been carried out ie cambelt water pump, gearbox and major servicing they seem solid

Congrats on the Bilsteins!

Exhaust - Milltek sounds extremely nice, Non-Res if you don't mind the drone but want it louder, Res for a more "civilised" system which won't have your neighbours out for blood! I just chopped the backboxes off mine, great sound but not as "bassy" as the Milltek.

Filters - ITG are what MRC use/recommend, I've not used any other make but BMC and K&N also make filters I believe.

DV's - Stick with stock but replace them every 50K miles or so as the internal spring gets tired. I got uprated Audi 510N's and got a sound like a moose calling at low speeds.

My OCD - Now, please don't take this comment as a negative but for the love of all that is holy can you stick the front license plate on straight and fix the blown left sidelight!

OMG I bet you've been really holding that in

I'm exactly the same if I'm following a car with a crooked number plate,
it drives me crazy
I'm like how can you live with that

Thanks for the comment much appreciated

Will be getting filters etc few bits and bobs and a good machine polish to bring out the Daytona until I get a custom exhaust catless and non res but will be keeping Oem back boxes with some new tips.

Meantime just going to get all fluids done coolant flush oil trans etc for my peace of mind

I actually got the Oem fitment sidelights as I like the two tone look

The plate will be replaced with new ones soon

I like the fact you care enough lol
Shamx1166

Decided to get the headlights looking less Hazy due to the headlight coating turning yellowish was really annoying to look at

Before

After

Il have to get it done again to get it more glossy and whiter looking.

Also removed the plate was held in by some extra thick and long screws
