Noggy S4 Saloon

This is my first s4. Had two tqs before and loved them. So the search began for nice example. Harder than I thought!!

Had the car now a couple of months and thought I'd put some pictures up as is a known forum car. Nothing's changed from when Baz had it by the previous owner, just the interior which was blue and black which I didn't like. So the first thing I did was hunt down a a full black rs4 interior. I would like to get it back to the cream leather but I've not come across a set yet.

Massive history with the car, around £9k over the years plus what Baz spent on it. 153k on it now and was by far the best I looked at and the right spec and mods. Needed a bit of clean and polish when bought it but it's getting there now! I don't have much time to spend on it at the moment but there's a few things to do. Did the belts and good service. Need to lift the back end up a bit. But not much else. Had the wheels freshened up, just face sides as I might change them but can't find any that suit it better than the b6s.

No problem mate, keep an eye out for a set of nice cream recaros for me and you're welcome to these. They are in nice condition, backs have hardly been sat in.

Had to get the boot sorted as is was just starting to bubble up on the left hand side of the number plate light. I was worried about getting it sprayed but it's a spot on job and can not tell any colour difference. Just shows you how well the paint work has been looked after. Got a few pictures!

Love that rear splitter

Great looking car

Thanks people. There's something about these b5s. I bought this as a I always wanted one, well a rs4 but the s4s are a lot cheaper and easy to get the performance of a rs4 out of! The saloon shape is stunning in the s4. A good investment to, but costly to run! Bikes have been my toys for the last 10 years or so and not had a nice second car for a long time. Best car I think for the money, refinement, looks, fully loaded, Quattro, quick and fast becoming a classic. I'm contomplating going k04s but it's not cheap! I'm might change the back bumper back to stranded as its a bit loud for me, but does look the b***ks! I like the sleeper though about these cars, not many people know what's under the bonnet!

I do like how it looked before. This is when stbaz had it. Looks sweet!

If you do decide to go back to stock I will buy the modded bits off you.

Finally got some photos sorted. Bought some S8 D2s

Then I change my mind so the Sportec went on

After having the car nearly a year now, there's a couple of issues I wanted to get sorted. But you all know once you start there's no stopping?! Had the issue of the gearbox crunching 1-2nd, cam covers leaking, play in the engine mounts, exhaust wants some attention. I thinks is still on the original clutch? 153k?!

So I started to look for parts to go down the k04 route!
So the list started -
Refurbished k04s on order from ttu
Doug was having the gearbox
044 fuel pump
Ev14 630cc
RS4 intercoolers
034 engine mounts
035 gearbox mounts
034 snub mount
XS power downpipes
XS power inlet pipes
RS4 clutch & flywheel
New cam cover gaskets
New spark plugs
Cam seals
Mapping

So it went into Ben at the turbo unit for the work to start asap!
Pics to follow!

Ben loves a good Noggy to work on

He does love a noggy, only just got it back! More my fault than Bens. Went in to be converted before I went in for an op but as I'm painfully learning there's always something else needs doing! RS maf new lambdas bit of a misfire, timing out slightly, me not been able to drive for 2 weeks! We got there in the end.
Top man Ben, kept me updated with photos and talked me through the best things to do and when.

And then the drive home, steady with the new clutch off the mark but... wow how it pulls and pulls and pulls! I've only done 40 miles on the drive home but it's savage, so much power through the gears. It's smooth but right over in the revs. Can't believe the difference. It maybe 17 years old with 156k on it but it's quick, very quick. Numbers...440-450. Il get it on the rolling road soon.

Next job, a good clean and polish.
The exhaust needs some attention
Need to upgrade the rear brakes
Rs airbox, k&n has to go.
Drop the front end slightly
Four wheel alignment.
Then put some miles on it!

Forgot of course plenty of pics from Doug with the gearbox!

Gave the car a good deep clean, leather cream, door cards, cleaned all the glass, engine bay  after 5.30am 80 mile round drive before everyone else was up! Never stopped smiling, it pulls so well!

Thanks for the comments. Love the Mono 10s, just need to drop it slighty more, it's not sitting right for me yet?

The rear bumper mod is sweet!

I'm curious as to how the exhaust routes around the spare wheel well?? Or is there room?

I'm having the new exhaust fitted in the next  few weeks. It's a little old and  untidy at the moments. Il post some pictures once it's all sorted
