Low overlap so will have missed the impact sensors completely - probably not high enough delta v either given scale of the damage

That'll get fixed for sure - doesn't look too bad but given it'll be on v-car I'm not sure where you draw the line on value as-is when you look at the cost to repair on top. Few grand at least in parts I would think

You don't hit impact sensors to set off airbags...

Either way, if the airbags didn't go off, they didn't need to go off.

There's usually 3 sensors and you need to see numbers in the right range on 2 out of 3 before the airbags deploy

Usually a 3 axis decelerometer on the centre line of the car plus electro-mechanical trigger(s) for front and side
