Porsche 944 m220 LSD/Diff mod - Anyone done this?

Just came across this video on you tube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECtwr-wTJZg&t=6s

Anyone done this mod? How available are the diffs? . . I did actually message a specialist Porsche 944 breaker on ebay but he wasn't able to help.

Any additional info would be appreciated, could be a much cheaper option than the ol' Quaife or Wavetech!

I run a quaiffe rear diff on my car along with a full b7 center diff and a Porsche torsen front lsd.

I run Wavetrac front and rear and RS4 B7 ceneter.

That's all very well and good but I'm simply not prepared to blow a grand+ on Quaife or Wavetrac LSD...

Out of interest, what's the difference between the B7 RS4 centre and stock B5? . . And is there any difference between b5 S4 and RS4?
jimbo

b7 runs a 60/40 split , 60 going to the rear and can go as much as 80 either way Im pretty sure. b5 is a 50/50 split and cant go as far as the b7. s4 and b5 rs4 diffs are dimensionally the same and perform the same but the s4 has an e at the end of the part number and the rs4 is f . the e diffs can take the washer mod that makes it perfom a bit more like a b7 diff. this is what the washers do, ive had one of these and it does work .

I think mad Baja makes these washers

Most of the Porsche LSD's don't seem to last long before they stop locking up, it's common. You'd need to factor in a re-build on a LSD that's 25 years old so you probably won't find yourself a million miles off Quaife money unless you can do it yourself.

Yeah I've knocked them up before but haven had time do any for a couple of months now. I need to finally do some for my car and normal do them in batches of 5 or 6. When they are done keep an eye on the for sale section as them don't seem to hang around for long haha

Im assuming if you are going to upgrade your diffs to LSD it would make sense to start with the back?

i'd say so. LSD front and open rear would probably handle somewhat oddly!

Another option for you, MFactory makes a LSD that sells for around $1000 USD, on sale for $800 USD at the moment.

I bought one on sale.

Probably much like the wee FWD polo g40 with a gripper plate diff!
: On the limit of traction round a corner..... passed apex, apply more throttle...
starts to slip..... then the diff kicks in, and speeds up the inside wheel and pulls the car INTO the corner!!!!
It doesnt feel like over steer, more like negative understeer.....

So you might think... ah more throttle will widen the line.... well yes it does but you dont get controlled understeer you get ZEROSTEER because both wheels are spinning ! so push it too much and you basically go straight on!

so yea you need to hold the throttle and steer out a bit!  But off course far out performs an open diff.....

Not at all. I have installed Porsche torsen diff to my friends car, and it drives great on the track! It has been tested on the Nürburgring and on local tracks.
