Project Satan's Child.

Been reading a lot about this project, mainly on this thread over on Audizine http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=224136

I've also Googled and come up with this site http://www.project-satanschild.com Although still under construction, there are some great pics of the build.

I've PMd Jack on Audizine and asked him if he will update this post in future as I'm sure that quite a few of us are more than a little bit interested in this mental project!
MarkB

Be good to see it progress and be great to see it run down the 1/4 mile.

Maybe we could have a Santa Pod meet when it's ready to run.

If Jack is happy to do updates for us I'll move this thread into the Project Cars and Builds forum
rik

He was over on the other forum, too. He had a thread there but rarely updated.

Yes, we must do that if he doesn't mind.
Adam

C'mon Jack, don't keep us waiting
satans child

buzzard

davidhodgkinson

That clutch is a work of art.

Well done
DavidT

Jules, your lad has finally made it to the site
dummi

so you are going for heavy duty with this car good work
James

can't wait to see it run.
Adam

Great pics Jack, project is really taking shape! Awesome stuff
MarkB

Time to move the thread to the projects and builds forum
davidr

That's gonna be awesome ..... great work .....
satans child

project satans child

well its almost done now, a few things left to finish and then she comes home...

the fuel cell, batterybox and battery cut off are all now mounted..

the rear wing in final fix along with the parachute mounting..

Mmmm this isn't very comfy ...lol

and this is pretty much where it will end up ...?

i will have some more pics on saturday ...

untill then ...
Adam

Rear wing isn't quite what I expected TBH! I'm presuming it was designed for the project but by whom? Drunken Saturday evening?
jeffw

Think streamlining not downforce and then it starts to make sense
Adam

I know it makes sense, just not quite what I expected
satans child

..

as jeff said.. it is mainly there just to clean the air off the back of the car, but it does too apply a fair bit of downforce..

it's hard to see but there is a small gurney on the back of the wing.

it was designed by arrc and is exactly the same as the rear wing you will see on most pro stock drag cars...i think it finishes the car off perfect..
it needs painting then it will look the dog's....

Mmmmm, think its needs more turbo
satans child

joking aside tho adam... when i got home monday night to fing that projectgtst ran three 7second run's at the weekend, i nearly took it back and bought a gt4718r... 1400hp...that'll do nicely..
Adam

Pretty awesome skyline
Ghost

Totally awesome project as I have said before the workmanship is outstanding.

Will the guys you have building the car at the mo finish it entirely or are you going to be completing various aspects of the project?
satans child

ARRC have built this gorgeous chassis for us and then the rest was left to us....

ive spent over 10k on custom parts for the engine alone now ... just imagine how much the research, design and labour to complete the build would be...

so yes the motor will be built by me, which has proved to be problematic as im frequently told im to fussy about parts and i must like spending money.... † †i wish

but i will only have the best of the best on this car... hence the total build cost to date.....

still ..................... it will be worth every penny ..
liwi

I do like the look of those turbos's.....that will defo boost up very nicely!!
Adam

Anything new yet Jack? Hope to see you still at the Halfway Inn meet Nov 22nd
satans child

...

oh yes adam.....

here's a few pics from home before she was loaded back on the trailer and off to the workshop for some paint.. , and looking a bit to high on the front still, ill sort that asap...

the next time you will all see it will be at the newbury meet at the halfway inn nov 22nd....

make shure your there....

Ghost

Awesome!
DavidT

Yes, it looks superb. When will its first strip outing be ?
Adam

Looks great Jack, coming together well. Looking forward to seeing it
mikeyquattro

I really hope its not my turn to work on the 22nd

Great I'm sure there will be many from here in attendence to cheer you guys on
Adam

There certainly will
satans child

i have some not so good news regarding satans child...

due to the paint job being totally shite   and there is not one tube in the car that is covered with paint, the whole car is now going to have to be painted..

and the bit most of you arn't going to like is..................its not going to be noggy blue anymore.....

not such a bad thing in my eyes ... i love black cars..

yes, black, bling bling 2pk black and chrome.. were going to start again this weekend and hope to have it compleate in 2 weeks...

the good news is i have my trust bud trev on the job now.... he is a perfectionist and this will sow when you get to see it next..

i have found a paint, thats not actualy paint... but it looks just like real chrome..

so now the car will be 2pk black with all the tubes of the chassis in chrome, i have always loved every black car i have owned..

and a deep glossy shine the black car will realy set off the chrome cage, pedals shifter and hand operated foot brake..

ill post some pics of the state of the car now ... and then you can all watch the transformation ...

more soon... im knackard..
rik

I'm liking the sound of that. I never was a noggy blue fan though..
James

nice choice by the sounds of it
Graham

Nice choice, but the Noggy like it or not did say fast Audi and that part of the identity now lost.
satans child

change of plans..

well some of you will be glad to hear that i have had a change of heart, and decided to keep the car noggy....

graham... thank you very much for the above comment

if it had not been said in such simple terms as that, i would have not thought twice about the real reason i started this whole project..
which was to put an audi out there with all the other big bhp drag cars, like the skylines and supras that have been about for ages now...

this car was built to make a statement and noggy like you say, does say fast audi......

cheers mate... ..jack...
mikey-s

That is good news. I thought it was a real shame when I read you were changing the colour.
jimbo

me too . noggy is the best colour.
s4woody

this car was built to make a statement and noggy like you say, does say fast audi......
oh well all you non noggy Audi's just dont have the speed ay...
Black is still a fast colour..
jarv

I think keeping it noggy is a good move.  Can't wait to see photos of the finished article.
Adam

I think the car would have looked awesome in black as you know. Noggy retains the original look of the car, yes, and will keep it easily identifiable as a fast Audi.
Could always go black for your second season
jarv

I think the noggy has a kind of Pavlovs dog effect, people will see the colour and salivate in anticipation of the performance, which they will no doubt get!
satans child

finally

well guys the car is going for another paint job again from tomorrow, inside and out...

this has not helped as it has put things back by so much..

still its better done proper than not at all...

this also means that we wont make it to the newbury meet on the 22nd..    sorry guys..
rik

You can still come to the meet, without the car, if you want.
Adam

satans child wrote:

well we now have spent 3 nights nearly dieing with paint fumes.....but, its now got shiney paint inside..

here is a couple of pics as we started it ..

the rest is being preped as i write this...

im just off to get ready to put some paint on the outside ..

more pics tonight..  and yes we should be able to bring it at the next meet
Adam

satans child wrote:
sad sad news again....

we cant stop shit from falling into the paint, no matter how much we wash the wall and celing with the hose....

so i have had to bite the bullet and put it into the paintshop for a full respray.... more big ££££

the good new is it should be done by next week...
Adam

Just trying to keep it all updated in the right thread

What's the latest then Jack, sounds like you're having  'mare with the paint job. This is starting to get obscenely expensive
Adam

Or should that just be even more obscenely expensive
bluebrakes

At least you're taking your time and getting it perfect.

An old friend of mine did a  spray job on a motorbike petrol tank (had his own spray business), I pointed out that there was a small run at the bottom of the tank.

His response was "it added character" to the bike.

"No it looks like you fooked up!"
jimbo

check out them skinny little front wheels.
satans child

gutted

cheers for updating the post from the meet's thread adam....

and yes iv'e had a mare with paint full stop, you cant trust anyone..

your right about one thing, this has now cost me a fortune to get ready, the car is going to autobody this week, which is a company local to me...

see what it comes back like this time ....

i have now decided that i am not going to rush any part of the car, it has to be done right, first time regardless of expense..

im due a shipment very soon from the usa with some very very nice parts for the car.. as soon as they arrive ill post some pics for you all...

but as for now, things are at a bit of a standstill untill the car is back with paint were happy with...

sorry for the not so often updates.... †but im sure you dont want to hear me cussing and swearing about the state of it....

more soon.... jack.
Adam

How's the paint job going then Jack?
satans child

evening

well fingers crossed adam....

its going in tomorrow......

ive had a seriously shitty week and we could not get it there last week..

so i am praying that it is finished before christmas.. as its realy starting to depress me now..

on a good note instead, i now have an engine builder as a sponsor for the car and the motor side of things is now in his very very good hands....

already there are major changes to the motor.. and as a result.........
MY VERY HIGH SPEC'ED JE PISTONS ARE FOR SALE £££££££
very cheap of course....  see the classifieds....

ill keep you all posted as it happens ...
aposegil

you going v8 then? or sticking to the v6?

car looking good again can't wait for this thing to be finished.
satans child

..

unfortunatly i have to stick to 6 cylinders to compeat in the series i want to run in...

so yes staying with the v6.... just something a bit more fore my needs...
viperbl

no scott, i had a change of heart ... pop back and read through page 3 bud

would have looked mean as f*ck thoe
rik

Still looking good.
Graham

Looking great. I think you've made the right choice on colour.
Doug

i see you are keeping the soundproofing in the doors - that will slow you down - that is where i will have an advantage!
satans child

Doug wrote:

doh ....lol

damn it, i give up...

i sopose these big heavy brakes are no good either... at 2.7 kilo's front

and 2.8 kilo's rear "discs are on the hubs"

how did your heat gun session go then doug ...?
Adam

Looks like you're getting there Jack! Still reckon black/chrome would've looked sweet but it's good to see it's all back on track
jimbo

thats a strange looking caliper? keep up the good work, when are you looking to be running it?
satans child

fingers crossed..

well jim, fingers crossed the weekend before my birthday...

here's the link to the series...

http://www.eurosportscompact.co.uk

we also hope to take part in all the main events at santa pod.. there are 5 rounds, 3 4 day events and 2 weekend events, this means we get to run against some of the most experienced people and some real american mucle cars..

you may think we will get our asses kicked....

think again..  this is jon on his last outing

I take it that you won't be driving then Jack??
satans child

oh yes

of course adam....

what makes you think otherwise.....
Adam

I don't understand who Jon is in the links you posted and presumed he was to be your driver?!
satans child

ah...

ah ... i see

no jon is the owner of that skyline, it was built by the same chassis builder as mine....arrc

ive posted a few pics and links before on rs246 of this car, build wise they are pretty much the same, same box, same gears, same axel, same chassis build, apart from my car is made in cromolly and jon's is steel....

it was just to show you what a car like these can do....

i will most definatly be the only one doing the driving....
Doug

what spec is the engine in the nissan and what power?
satans child

...

its an rb26 bored and stroked to 2.8l
its running a hks spl 62 turbo... its making just over 1000bhp at the wheels.
jimbo

how much boost pressure would be needed to make that kind of horsepower???????
satans child

...

i think he is running about 2.2 bar
Doug

lag? and what does it rev to?
jimbo

is that all?
satans child

Doug wrote:
lag? and what does it rev to?

well the turbo is a large as mine, so depends how you mean lag...?

for how me a jon use them none.....  but then we do both run a 2 step limiter with launch control, ie anti lag

im not sure what his redline is...? about 10,000rpm's i think

impressive .. NO
Doug

2.2bar at 10k explains the power.
confusionhunter

Holy Cr4p..... and here is us being impressed with out 1.4 bar at 7k rpm!
Adam

What's happening then Jack? Are you going to make it to the Feb 7th meet at Halfway??
rik

We really need to start recording the total horsepower of the meetups, and see what we get...
satans child

i wish...

adam i do hope to be there yes...

the car sadly not, the big rush has now started to have her together and running for the start of the season in march..

im still waiting on a £6,000 order of parts from the usa, but were starting to get there now.......
Adam

When will your first run be Jack? A bet a few of us here would like to be there to see it
