R8 GT3: Audi Develops Race Version of the R8

Ingolstadt – For the first time, Audi Sport will offer a racing sports car specifically developed for customer use in the form of the powerful 500 hp plus GT3 version of the Audi R8 which will be available from autumn 2009. could this be Audi's entry for Le Mans next year since its stated Audi intends to do something  different now the R10 tdi has been retired this year?

prefer this or the V12 tdi

Interesting times at Audi.  2008 was their most sucessful year ever in motorsport & yet they can't decide what to race next year !!!

Not long to wait now - a week on Friday (28th) Dr. Ullrich will present Audi's plans for the 2009 motorsport season at the Essen Motor Show.

thought last year was as equally sucessfull

ELMS..Dont think Audi was in it last year

whatever they do it should be top flight

Yes, Biela/Pirro/Werner did the honours at Sebring last year.  Until this year, Audi were unbeaten there since 2000.

Mattias Ekström won the DTM for Audi and no, they weren't in the LMS in 2007.
