Rear differential oil change - what oil is recommended?

This is about a Audi S8 D2 (1997) with the manual 01E gearbox.

As topic. I allready replaced the gearbox oil in my manual so the front and middle differentials should be happy, however the rear differential is still running with some old junk (supecting its the same as it had when it left the factory...).

What oil is recommended for the rear differential. Please keep in mind that my right foot is quite heavy and the goal with this car will be to make it transfer a whole lot of power down to the ground, more the the 340bhp stock...

Cheers!

Get it from Audi - call them with your reg number - its 10 quid a litre or half, standard diff oil. No cheaper anywhere else.

Thanks!

The price is not whats bothering me, the question is if there is anything thats even better then the oil audi provides?

No they are all the same by and large imo, too many folks get caught up in Oil marketing. I have 170 000 miles on my S8 rear diff and all i did was replace both oil seals and top it up. Still all good 10 000 miles later
