RS6 (C6) recall for Xenon lightsFYI there is an outstanding workshop recall for all C6 RS6's for some changes to the Xenon headlights. Having mine done today.
Call your Audi dealer for details

Annoyingly, my dealer just rang to say they don't have a part in for the fixes they need to do, so I am going to have to keep the lowly A6 2.0L SE TDi loaner for another day (and probably more if the roads are un-drivable tomorrow in all the snow expected overnight).
More likely is that the technicians are all going for joy rides in my RS6!

Sorry Alex was probably me who used all the "spares" as mine was in Reading last week .. In total car was in for 2 days .. Dropped it off on Tuesday and got a call around Noon saying that they needed to replace one of the headlights to fix the failed DRL (original reason I'd booked it in before Christmas) ... which (as normal with Audi) they did not have in stock .. There are possibly 3 Workshop Actions (They dont call them recalls these days )
When I collected the car I spoke to the Service guy re the Workshop actions.. he knew very little about what they where Only one he could shed some light on was 95E1 which was a new set of seals on the Xenons as the original ones can leak
paper works shows ..
24Q6 - Coding of Engine Control Unit
91E6 - MMI software Upgrade
95E1 - Repair Xenon Headlights ... This WA called up repair kit A4F0 998 191 Priced at GBP 10.99 (covered by warranty of course)
Best G

I wouldn't mind so much if they'd given me a R8 V10 to play with. Still, even that's a lot less power than I am use to though

these stealers really don't like money being tied up in stocked parts do they!?

Took/booked mine in before Xmas to be told they had to order in the parts so I continued on my merry way.
Called them yesterday to say order the parts in and call me when you have them, then I'll book the car in when suits me as it's not an issue to me at present.
Have had the previous ECU/MMI updates completed, they didn't effect my mapping or TV unlocking

Hi G,Alex! Give the guys at http://www.satnavsystems.com/ a call.
I can't remember exactly what I paid (200?) but although it seemed a lot for a 5min flash it's nice not to have your screen cut out, especially in stop start traffic!
Well, for your passengers obviously!

Got a call this morning to go pick up my RS6. The loaner (2wd) A6 is under 2 feet of snow though and I have about 200 feet to drive through until the main street (which is also covered in snow).
Think I will be saying put until the snow and ice melts me thinks (especially with a 250 quid insurance excess to consider).

I paid for mine too, bit cheaper, as I got it done by a Russian dude remotely over the 'net. Worked out fine though
Apparently if you have VAG-COM/VCDS you can get it yourself free now, see:

I used to work at the Audi dealership in Liverpool, they threw £1000's away every year due to old/slow moving stock. And I mean they literally threw it in the wheelie bin.. Needless to say the manager was a bit of a cnut and wouldn't let anyone get their hands on it..
