Running rough.

For the last couple of day the old girl has been running not quite right. It feels like it's missing on part throttle mainly on low revs. If you boot it she coughs and then goes ok. It has been scanned tonight and no fault codes found.

Any ideas as to what it could be. I hope to do some logs on cylinder misfire and maf readings. Any thing else I should test. Could it be a bad o2 sensor?
It's not the egt sensors as these have been coded out.
Thanks

Simon.

air leak?

Not had it on my own car, but my dads 1.8T had a split hose on the manifold and did exactly what you describe. Hesitant and a bit odd on part throttle, and planting it got a big judder then it exploded into life.

Sounds like when my ICM's were on there way out... cheap and easy thing to rule out with some used but good spares

I shall have a good look around in the daylight see if any pipes are split 👍

Have you checked THROTTLE BODY BOOT recently

If it's from cold start I'd say icm too, there is some dielectric compound that gets old and needs a few new Layers between icm and airbox

Make sure you scraped all old stuff off looks like dried toothpaste if you know what I mean. Use damp cloth before and dry before re applying Dielectric compound. If that fails try a new icm.

I have had a good poke about today. The f hose had a slight split,it was under the jubilee clip so don't really think it was a problem but I had a new spare so I fitted it anyway. I had a new set of spark plugs so I fitted them too. I took it for a short run and it ran well I shall try it out properly tomorrow on my way to work.
