S4 WB conversion

2 weeks ago I swapped my S8 d2 for an S4 facelift from 2000.

It has done 160k miles and colour is LZ9B brilliantschwarz.

Knowing I wanted a an S4 WB for a long time I was looking for WB parts on the familiar sites.

This is not an easy task, but I managed to find a complete kit in Germany a few days back.

So things CAN go fast at some point...so this morning I went to Osnabruck in Germany where I met the guy who sold me the kit.

Everything is there:

-Front and rear bumpers complete
-front wings
-Sideskirts
-4xInner wheel well
-RS4 sills
-4 RS4 doors complete
-rear side panels
-RS4 clocks
-RS4 steering wheel with airbag

And it is all from the same car....colour code from this car was also LZ9B Brilliantschwarz,so that is convenient.

I've also got an option on an RS4 prings and shock set and RS4 uprights.

We'll see how this project develops.....I'm not really in a hurry..since it's my daily driver
Nez

Good luck mate should be a beast ones finish any plans on the engine?
Marc R

Engine will be moderatly tuned...not beyond 450HP.

Just S4 AGB engine with a lot of RS4 parts I've got lying around...still gotta decide on turbo's though but that's not really a hard decision.

Most important is choice of colour...I really don't know what to choose.

Sounds like a car you plan to drive
Marc R

Yes, it's my daily driver...the RS4 is in the garage.
Noggymike

Good news

Another WB

Enjoy this one Marc

Judging by your other projects, it will be superb

M
mavada

are you having it re painted imola or white or stick with black?
Marc R

Thanks Mike!  I try...

Mavada, I really don't know yet.
ghostdog

Good luck with the project Marc. I know it will be a good one. I will follow this one with great interest.

Choose something different and don't go for white please we have enough widebody in white  colour

Yellow should be nice
Marc R

Defenately no yellow and no white....
mikey-s

Keeping it black will save a load of hassle painting all the nooks & crannies,   plus widebodies look fantastic in black!
Marc R

Indeed Mikey, looking into Pantherblack an the moment.
Ian_C

Have to say I think of all the widebodies I've seen I liked Nills one the best - also Panther black.

Marc R

Nills his WB is why i'm into pantherblack yes....
Ian_C

Guessed it might be!
Marc R

Nice example too...

Yesterday I quickly changed the EGT on bank 1,the throttlebody boot (big leak) and the vacuum hoses of the DV's.

MAN this makes a huge difference!

The little k03's really show that they are capable of good power on the AGB.

This weekend the timing belt will be done and also an oil change with filters and plugs.

Should bring this S4 back on track,it didn't receive a lot of TLC the last few years i suppose.

Must admit that the engine runs like a charm though.
guymcc

Ooh that wb in the vid looks superb!
Marc R

We've serviced the S4 this week, and must admit that I have never seen such a bad job done.

They succeeded in fitting the crank pully the wrong way and with different types of bolts.!

furthermore the spark plugs were so old they were very baldy rusted, almost couldn't be removed due to the metal getting brittle.

Oil was ultra dark so really really old.

Waterpump had no gasket but was fitted with liquid gasket...how stupid.
Also different bolt used here...

Thermostat was also broken.

So al in all a lot of work but engine still runs fine but now it's healty again with new fluids and filters.

There was also a lot of water under the battery,so opened up the holes there.

Must admit it's a good feeling on money well spent.

She's ready for the WB conversion now....it's due in 4 to 5 weeks

I picked up a very nice set of Movit 322 brakes with the well-known Porsche big red calipers.

They'll look awesome on the S4...and work well too...might come in handy

Marc R

I am...but i'm way to busy at the moment to get excited about a car.

I'm in the most turbulent period of my business ever since we started, fortunately it's all positive.
So ill leave it up to my friend...and pick it up when its ready.

Well I was too late for the Ap coiloverkit sold over here...

Thinking of buying a set new...i really don't want a kit like H&R or KW...i'm afraid (quite sure) these are rockhard.

Any info on comfy coiloverkits appreciated
