Since starting AudiSRS just over 3 years ago we decided that along with all the technical, nerdy, humorous and other types of things that go on in a forum that we should be active in creating more than that.
We arrange / attend many events during the year bringing together many people from all walks of life with one thing in common ... Audi's. But this also means we get to know people first hand, not just from behind a keyboard.
It is for this reason that we decided it was a good thing to try and raise a bit of money for worthy causes. Up to now that has been charities. I don't have the figures to hand but I think to date we have raised in the region of £5K.
Thanks to all those that have taken part, helped or donated. I think it's something to be proud of.
For the next 12months we are turning out attention to an individual little girl who's the daughter of a forum member. We are making a commitment to raise £2000+ to go towards helping her get to America for a life changing operation.
My name is Karis Ferguson,
My website has been setup to help raise awareness and hopefully generate enough support and donations to help me get to America, to have a life changing procedure which will make my legs work better.
Please have a look around the site, to find out further information about my condition and the operation.
We have setup our own appeal page HERE with a fancy little graphic showing the fundraising progress.
Throughout the year we will be doing different things to help get money in the pot for her. The amount we are trying to raise is small compared to the amount she needs so if we can smash the £2K target even better.
We realise here that paypal charges are a pain so once we hit a gross value of £2000 we will take the net value in the paypal account and make it up to the full £2000.
Please take a look at her website and if you would like to make a donation do it though our page HERE
Also, spread the word, friends, family, other forums ... lets see how quickly we can reach our target.
The support for this has been absolutely fantastic. We are roughly halfway to our £2000 target
Thank you all very much for your support so far.
A special thanks to Quattrokid (Richard) today for meeting up with us to catch up and hand also on the £260 fund-raised by AUDISRS members at the the Crieff meeting earlier in the year.
We really appreciate your support, so thank you all again!
Thanks mate !!
Karis is looking great, a bit shy perhaps but fantastic to see her walking unaided !!
Hope the physio helps her more so
Also Sarah was also looking well..
Hope to see you all soon
@ David T could you update the appeal gauge please to reflect the additional
£ 260 added today
Hell yes, very well done Rich
it wasn't just me Dave, many people chipped in to raise £ 260 I offered to pass it on to Grant since I see him when he has a moment free
Total updated, thanks again all
Here's a wee video of Karis achieving a major milestone since her operations back in March and April. Basically, before her operation she couldn't get on one knee and hold herself straight for any time. Now she can get up and down herself without any props.
We're really amazed at her progress, and all the physio we do with her is starting to reap benefits.
