Sky+HD box .. rear connectors

Does anyone know whether the "RF out" aerial connector on the back of a Sky+HD box produces the same channel that is being transmitted on the SCART or HDMI outputs?

Just want to run a standard aerial cable to another TV and showing the same programme as the main TV.

I'm guessing, but think you can only have scart or HDMI - and then the RF copies that. But that's a guess.

It's the same output whichever connector you use.

Cheers both - seems like I've got some work to do this weekend feeding cables through walls etc!

Seems to be loads of info if you whack it into google. You need to switch the port on in the engineer menus.

Depending on the other set, i.e. if it takes an HDMI input and distance, its maybe worth considering a HDMI splitter and cables - quality will be a lot better.

Or if you have one of the older boxes it will also have component out

It's a reasonably cheap TV in the kitchen and so HD isn't an option anyway.

Currently I have a pair of Tx/Rx boxes but there is so much audio interference the set in the kitchen is all but useless ... hence the desire to put a normal aerial cable in.

Makes sense to to it that way then..

I had the same setup in my old place using a Sky+ box into the spare room, worked well

helo derdle. yes you can connect the aerial output as well as running hdmi and both scarts all at the same time

so run a cable from your sky box port is labeled 'RF out 2'
and buy your self one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-G...eeview_RL&hash=item2ea6b2fc71
then you can buy or use remote from living room in the (kitchen if i remember correctly)

when making the ends on the cable make sure the outer strands do NOT contact the inner wire (thicker one)
if there are no screws on the ends you get for the cables bend the wire slightly at the end to make sure they make proper connection as the magic eye uses 9volts down the line.

finally to go into the installers menu on the sky HD box
press services
then key in 001 then select
go right to rf out
change output number to 21 for best results
then turn output power on then press green button to save settings.

now stick your tv in the kitchen on auto tune and hey presto

Cheers s4osh ... finally sorted this out with no problems in the end, the worst bit was trying to route the cable through walls and behind kitchen cabinets. But all sorted now and have a decent picture in the kitchen with decent audio too!

Many thanks to everyone who helped with this one.
