stbaz back with a noggy ......... k04 goodness

Im sure many of you guys will remeber my first nogaro blue b5 s4 saloon.....one saturday morning, feeling sorry for myself and falling out with everything and anything to do with cars i decided to advertise it for sale ..... within 20 mins it was sold to a lad from birmingham and as soon as it left my ownership i knew it was a mistake....

the following weekend the s4 was replaced with a b5 rs4 which i thought would be the ultimate b5 for me ......i hated it. i couldnt place why but the s4 just felt a nicer car .... a better drive and easier to live with......

the rs4 was then sold and replaced with a rare denim blue b5 s4 avant....... this was a great car but again with general life being to busy and the urge to sell everything and buy one car , that was advertised too.

then i bought what i thought would be the ultimate all rounder..... w211 e55 amg ....
this was a fantastic car and it ticked every box........untill one day recently where it was defeated by 1.5 inches of snow... !!!
"dont use it in the winter they all said" but i have plenty "non winter" cars as it is so it was time to go .

i decided i would go back to a b5 s4 but....... it had to be the right car.....

the one ive ended up with is spec as follows

nogaro blue b5 saloon
black heated leather
blue weave carbon trim
rnsd double din sat nav
19" bbs ch wheels
lowered uprated suspension
all new brakes
etc etc

the best bit.......

the engine was removed and fully rebuild using oe parts with rs items where possible
rs intercoolers
rs turbos
660cc injectors
rs maf
uprated turbo pipes
uprated dv's
full stainless exhaust
stainless down pipes with no cats

it was rolling roaded last at 484hp but the previous owner said it has had a few little things changed since so i plan to have it bk on the rollers and maybe have the mapping tweeked to suit if possible for every last pony

this is the car as i bought it

i already knew from the advert pictures i would have to make some changes to the car to make it that bit more me ..... so after the first week of owning it i have so far .......

replaced the mirrors as the fake rs look covers were bonded on to the original ones ... they had to go!!!

removed the non original badging

removed the window tints ....ball ache!!!!

and removed the day time running lights replacing the outer grills with rs look mesh

madmax2

that looks delicious. May I ask what size tyres go on the 19" wheels you have?
stbaz

It's got 225 35 19 on there mate . I'm not sure if il keep the 19s on or if I do maybe change the colour.
coullstar

Looks nice, not sure on the wheels either on it. Maybe a colour change would work.
Noggymike

Nice 1 Baz

Gone full circle and ended up with the best again

Well done on the touches so far as I think they have been spot on.

I personally like the wheel/colour combo
Akis

I remember this being for sale for quite some time, glad it's gone to an enthusiast within the community

The B5 S4 is certainly a great all-rounder, welcome back!
Challice

Looks tidy but what's going on with that accordion hose?

The first picture that front grill badge stood out like a sore thumb glad your choices are the right ones

Best colour too
ian52

Are the wheels genuine BBS?
guymcc

Welcome back to the B5 fold Baz!!

aidank1981

I hoping it's these... Or very similar!

madmax2

I like the way the car looks from the rear..not sure how it looks when the lights are on etc but I went looking and narrowed it down to these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Back-Re...item5664ceeaa6:g:688AAOSw9mFWJLSR
stbaz

The wheels and tyres will be up for sale shortly. .

Not had the rears off yet but the fronts are 8.5x19 et 42 and it has 225 35 19 tyres all round.
I assume by the fit of the tyres that the rears are 8.5 wide also.
coullstar

PM me with a price as they would suit my daily and I can collect.
stbaz

Soooooooooo.......

Watch this space...... wide body it is !!

stbaz

the s now sits on bc racing coilover suspension which i must admit after trying various coilovers on b5 s4's such as h&r , kw , fk etc these perform absolutely brilliant.

these were bought from forum member n1ke81092..... who supplied a fantastic service and communication level.... recommend him as a seller to anyone. honest and trustworthy and a genuine decent bloke

also the wheels for the rs4 body conversion as pictured ....... the current wheel with tyre fitted is 8.5x19  :rthumb:

Akis

Looking good! Will you be doing the WB conversion yourself?
stbaz

cheers ....

ive got the body shop next door on stand by for the rear quarters should i decide not to do them but i will be doing the rest of it for sure . they are also going to do the rear bumper mod for me rather than use the s4 one
Akis

Sounds good, look forward to seeing it take shape!
Alps

If that was required for the amount of road trips I do year in and out for cars and parts mate it would be full.

Took my mate with me and we spike about that coming home. We recon we have done about 25k miles since 2006 just buying cars and parts in the UK !!!!
guymcc

Good effort that Baz!!
Scotcoub

Thanks again baz for dropping the parts off top bloke. Keeping a keen eye on this one all the best with it mate
stevieyid

I echo the above thanks Baz one for driving all that way to collect your parts but to go out your way to deliver Scot's parts was very much appreciated. Both Scot and Baz are top members to deal with. Look forward to seeing this build!!

listed in classifieds already mate
ShivasRegal

Where those window scrapers hard to transfer. I've heard they are a pig to keep intact and to not bend them when removing.
stbaz

ShivasRegal wrote:

I removed them complete with the rubber backings which are riveted to the door.bit more work.as you need to remove the window frames to do that but no chance of bending them then.
autogear

no messing on with it!
stbaz

more progress ......

the last door fitted . windows swapped and master lock exchanged.....

front wings are at the paint shop just now having the bottoms shot blasted and stone chipped and one needed welded . they were pretty poor compared to the mint wings that were removed but there being sorted out so not to worry

next stop ..... rear quarters.

Noggymike

Keep it coming Baz
mikey-s

What's the plan for a rear bumper?
stbaz

I will be using the rs4 rear bumper modified for saloon.
I made a start tonight on rear quarter panels.
Stripping the inners and outers away from.the rear corners I have. Pics tomo.
stbaz

Challice

stbaz

Kent

good stuff
stbaz

im not one for blowing off at my own work however im felling quite happy about this .........
for not being a bodyshop worker etc i think im doing not to bad .....

nearside is almost finished . a bit of time to rub it down left then onto the offside

madmax2

I'm just amazed at how fast this seems to be happening , for a (can I use the word amateur?)

One thing I havent seen covered in all these threads is spacing the wheels out. Does it just involve another set with a different ET or is there more work than that?

p.s. still loving your rear lights. Must get me a set.
stbaz

yeh thats fine with me mate !! i have done some body work in the past but nothing like this extent!!!

time wise ...the key is 14 and 15 hour days however from 8am to 5pm im running the business

im just trying to keep it moving as i tend to find with any project in the past that once your away from it for a week or two then the interest and enthusiasm fades ..... hence the bmw now taking 6 years so far and still not finished!!!
Arctic_Monkey

Great work mate, great progress
Adam L

I've got a nice set of wheels that'll fill those arches

Looks great! I do enjoy looking at all the wide bodied saloons on here and am quite partial to Nogaro blue
stbaz

I'm sorted for wheels mate cheers
