steering angle sensor calibration

Hello. Changed steering cowling on my s6 recently. Naturally had steering wheel off etc, did it all correctly, well, what I thought was, but had ABS and ESP light and the big red warning light in centre of dash. Turns out to be the G85 fault code on my IOBD2.  Local garage tried to re-calibrate steering angel but said it wouldn't register on his audi machine.  I replaced sensor with a second hand genuine Audi part, same part number etc, but still had same problem. If it's not the sensor then what else could it be? Help

Regards
Rob.

Probably the clibration wasn't done properly.

Get / borrow a vagcom and do it this way:

You can get cheapo cables on eBay. They can be a bit hit and miss though.
