Sorry  I've just read what I put  and it doesn't make sense    phones!!!!!

Basically I am after a new double din with all the bells and wistles what are my options for aftermarket

for a double din I went with the pioneer AVH170-DVD.   Was £170 online.  USB cable and charging ability for my ipod(nano4) Displays album artwork on screen as well as song info.  Had DAB capability (needs a antenna fitted)  as well as loads of other little features.  and mega easy to use.

Installation was a pain though. Went with a connect2 facia and proper audioleads adaptor to utilise bose amp. (was supposed to be completely plug and play).   ended up having to pull a switched live from the heater controls, had to re-jig some things to get the Bose amp to switch on with the aftermarket loom aswell as a few other tweaks.  totally worth it in the end though.

Yeah it's the navigation plus head unit. Yeah this is what I'm thinking as I know audis are a nightmare for changing head units

Ben - Is you're interior white/cream? My Alpine INE-W925R suffered from sunlight reflections from the white seats, so much so you couldn't see the screen in some conditions which is pretty poor in my opinion.

Other than that it was a fantastic headunit, connections for everything, every type of radio, sat-nav etc, a fantastic bit of kit.
