TT RS Plus - pointless

i dont get it

whats the point ?

20 extra PS and some carbon mirror casings ?

650 quid at MRC will get you 410PS and 200 will get you some carbon mirror casings from ebay

I seriously think quattro GmbH have lost the plot

at least whack loads of options, like buckets, or pole positions as standard ... strip the rear seats ... DO SOMETHING

I have no hope for the B8 RS 4

If they made ttrs quicker the r8 v8 would have a problem. Thats probably the only reason for that.

B8 RS4 will have the rs5 engine, so you know what it will feel like...

Standard TT RS is already as quick or quicker than the R8V8. Both cars tend to do 100-200kmh in the high 11 to 12 second range. A simple remap on the TTRS and the R8 gets wasted.

Would be interesting to see data from both cars with say 20K on the clock. Wonder if the TTRS engine suffers as much from carbon buildup as the V8.

The B8 RS4 is going to be molested by the upcoming turbo M3 as we are seeing that the F10 M5 absolutely smokes the RS5. A complete shame that Audi insists on continuing the use of manifold pressure challenged engines in the RS4.

think of it this way...

R8 v TTRS

Yes ok the R8 driver needs to win and wants to win. BUT if he doesn't he still has the knowledge that he is in a R8, not that there is anything wrong with a TT, but a R8 is the flagship audi really......

another example.

Smart car Vs Enzo

Right the smart car has 2 hayabusa tubo engines, and wins, hands down.

So, the Enzo's response.

"nice very nice, respect for spending that much on your very fast car, seriously impressive. lets have a look... blah blah...........blah......... BUT i still have an enzo, and you still have a smart car, even if its rapid"


again, nots that i'm comparing either the TT to and smart or the R8 to an enzo, but the same principle applies..



PS, DK, i also have no hope for the B8 RS4

iv had that drag, and the TTRS cant pass the R8, and that was with S-Tronic

but map it and its game over

but the TTRS handles like crap compared the finesse of the R8

and the TTRS looks like a gay TT and the R8 looks hard as nails gansta R8

Yes, the R8 V8 handles great and looks grand. However, it is simply too slow for a supercar.
The V10 is what it should have been introduced in the first place.

i dont agree

the V8 is an entry level super car

like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, many Porsche 911's etc

The V8 was not meant to compete with the big boys ... the V10 has that locked down with 572 PS post MRC !

At Silverstone I had a pro instructor driving the V10 R8 with another Pro in a V8 R8 all over the back of us... and we could not loose him... my guy was not happy  

Straight line performance figures do not tell the full story... as ever!!
