Want to change my turbocharger for something more modern???

Hi All

Im currently piecing together a wish list for my UR 10v and wondering what is the modern oquivalant turbo charger to whats currently fitted.

In my mind im wanting to:
Port the head
034 Cam
034 bigger inlet and exhaust valves
034 exhaust manifold
What turbo?

Questions:
How much power/bhp can the standard mechanical injection handle?

All help would be greatly appricated

Thanks
MathiasS

Does an RS2 turbo/manifold/injectors etc fit the 10v ?

If so a friend of mine is selling all those parts

You won`t get much power out of the 10V engine for the cost. The original K jet fuel system is very limited.

Better of fitting a good 20V engine, and spend your money on this engine.

Been there and done this.....!

Hi
Thanks for the message.

I know what your saying and your correct a 20 valver would be the best option but i dont want to go down that route.  For now i just want to play with the 10v then later down the line fit a 2.6TT.

Thanks

You should NEVER remove the inline 5 cylinder engine from a quattro!

You will have to rig up a water cooling feed as it is water cooled.

It would be cheaper to hybrid your original turbo if you must. But then your k jet system will struggle to fuel correctly.

I like the design of this manifold more than the 034 one.

If you fit an after market ecu and loom you will have a base to extract more power you won't get more than 240 - 250 out of the standard fuelling + the more boost you add the more you will need to play with the timing which you can't do either on the Hitachi system.

20v conversion always works out the most economical solution....
