whats the most weird behaviour your s or rs has done??

this car makes me laugh, love it to bits and its strange behaviour,
tonight the main lights decided not to work, but sidelights remained when flicking to main beam, no high beam either, and the fan module was going up and down on display by itself without any air blowing out then after 5 mins all is working well again got to love an old s4 and its bi polar anyone got a weirder one than that
Aragorn

failing ignition switch maybe?
Eddy

The other month, stereo came on but no s4 welcome and no sound,
10mins later worked fine. not done it since

another thing which may be normal but had folk in the back and couldn't switch the ESP off ? is this a safety feature ?

The other week, On a recent track day at knockhill on my first or second lap of the day the alternator/battery light came on for a few seconds, but fixed its self even after a good thrashing

Hazard switch relay would be my guess... speak to Jimbo!
Akis

Accelerated by itself for a few seconds, no cruise control, no foot slip etc...

Never done it since.

My headlights current you have a mind of their own. When they feel like it, they point right up to the sky. It's completely random. Sometimes pulling out the key will make them level back to normal, other times I can do it 50+ times and the lights will still stay pointing to the sky. It's a major inconvenience.

I'm going collecting two used ones and a new control module on Friday, so hopefully that will fix it.

my radio (concert single din) has twice in a year refused to display the first letter of the radio station (DIS displays it fine...only radio display itself loses the first letter)

apitol FM
iss 100

etc

no rhyme or reason to it, and two out of 365 times is too little to figure out why.
Rebooting it (key off, key out, key back in, start car) fixes it. But a radio on/off wont resolve it..has to be a full reboot of the electronics.

I was driving in town a few weeks ago when I suddenly heard a buzzing noise where I couldn't tell if it was inside the car or out. I looked all around and couldn't see anything amiss.
Then I felt a cold draught on the back of my neck. Realisation dawned that the sunroof had just opened for no reason.
I didn't even know how to close it without pulling over and exploring it, but it has been fine ever since.

My s4 didnt break or do anything strange for a whole month once.............weird
Madpugger

So my car did the indicator issue again this morning, also the drivers side headlight Dip beam went off so stalk on off and back on.... An ideas
Aragorn

frozen indicator is usually a bad relay
Madpugger

And would that relay effect the headlights
jimbo

mine has run perfectly for the last 4 months , im totally freaked out by this.
jockthedog

mine passed its mot

Not the car as such, but just after I had it, I heard a massive *BANG* just as I was changing albums on the Parrot BT kit. Pulled over convinced I'd had a blow out or a rock had hit the door. Turns out it was the BT unit switching between the Bose and the built-in amps. Blew a speaker that did. Now I have to have the head unit on all the time to keep it from happening.

That and the pound coins that magically fly out my wallet like flocks of sparrows every time I hit the loud pedal. Uncanny..

Yeah, i had a simular experience.

it's the sensor of gas pedal. It remains stuck, which causes it to accelerate on it's own. Easy to replace.

Phew! So I wasn't going crazy. Thanks man
Jism

I had it twice. It was really short, and ackward knowing you've let your foot down, and the car still accelerates. But it's due to a sensor being worn in the pedal itself. It does'nt come off the moment you release gas, and stays stuck thinking your acceleration.

Random occasional knock sensor issue. Does my nut in when it happens,...then it goes away,...sometimes after a few minutes,...sometimes after a couple of months lol

Even had Jimbo scratching his head.

I get the occasional freezing hazards thingamy as well. Maybe time for a fresh relay/switch (all in one on a PFL).
