Windscreen Treatment! absolutely spot on!

When i got the S4 (beginning of december) gave her a good detail and a bit of TLC - some more still needs to be done.

Whilst doing this I used a new product to my collection.

Gtechniq glass sealant kit.

G4- nano Glass polish- deep cleaner and grease remover
G1- Windscreen dirt and water replant
G2- G1 residue remover.

I bought in a kit from www.cleanyourcar.com for 16.95
each kit is about enough to do one vehicle (3 coats of windscreen and 1 coat on every other window)

I have used this sort of product before on previous cars and during in the winter months, depending on milage of corse, 1-2 weeks is about as good as i have seen, and even then it deteriorates rapidly. Gtechniq claim unto 2years life, and from the short time using it, i can see why....

Water literally runs off the screen. around town speeds are fine as it works even stationary if medium-heavy rain. 30mph is enough to shift any spots of water on the screen, and 50mph+ 100% visibility with NO WIPERS

**(some have you may already know i have a pet hatred of wipers, the marks they leave, the noise they can make and my dog hates them too)

So i would recommend Gtechniq glass treatment to anyone! clean freak or not.

as a by product of this, Even in the freezing temperatures we see, Ice physically cannot stick to the screen, while it may sit on the screen in sheet form, either one wipe or a quick blast to 30 and its gone (i don't recommend this approach) Dirt does't stick to the screen nor do dead bugs, sap or any other shit tempted by a place on your screen..

Check a little vid to demonstrate its water repelling.

I'll get a few more vids in the rain and speeds, and of ice in the morning....

Does look good, but wont a bottle of Halfrauds special work (almost) as well, for 1/4 of the price?

From my experience no, no where near. this stuff seriously hates water. There is no need to use wipers ever, no matter how light of heavy the rainfall maybe.

I have previously experience excellent results at motorway speeds in heavy rain, but any untreated windscreen will disperse water in these conditions. light rain, or even if the car in front decides to give you a slight shower, will disperse at speeds of just 30mph. this i have never seen before.

I will get some more vids up asap.

Another +1

I've used this for almost 3 years (approx 30k miles) and only now just considering buying some more as recently noticed it appears to be wearing.  I bought direct from gtechniq, the one kit as enough for two cars (two coats on Windscreen which is as they advised).

Did you use G1 or G3??

I used G1 and My destructions said 3 coats on windscreen, 5 mins between coat 1 and 2, 5 mins between 2 and 3 and 20mins curing for coat 3.??

how does this affect the wipers when you have to use them? Ive tried that rainX stuff before & sure it made the screen look ultra clean but if you used the wipers especially at night, all you saw was smears! I had to machine buff the screen to get the crap off!

It claims to be wiper proof, and to be honest it is. i don't use wipers ever, but my dad does even with G1 applied and his is still mint, (been on about 4 months)

I would recommend cleaning the wiper blades with a IPI or with a little G3 just to remove any crap off them..

I swear by it.

TBH I couldn't remember but looking at the site now it would have been the G1 as G3 quotes 'lasts 5 up to months.' Company was in infancy back then so wouldn't be surprised if they've refined the instructions since
