Yea Ash, there could be a good fuel economy one, but a lot depends on that right foot!! Fuel economy testing is hard task for me!!

Yes, defiantly do one for working with Meth, no problem, that would work well with the "live" switchable maps on the fly, quicker than uploading a new map and means you can turn on and off when needed and the flick of a button if the meth runs out for example or that 996 porker threat has subsided

PMSL @ moocher, oh aye, leave it with me, we can test it on your car!

could you do an sms message to say when Helen has passed the 1500 rpm thresh hold to my mobile?

could you have a kill switch activated from a mobile phone?

how do you explain to your insurance co if your involved in an accident you have a secret map selector switch?

hold on office while I reset the ecu to standard!!

A 'valet mode' map would be useful. Can the unit do that?

yep, no problem. Basically any map I can write it will be able to upload....

Could also do a, let me word this right ... "other family member map"! with say reduced HP, maybe not as little as Valet map, but equally, not the full potential of the car ... loads of options!

Is it coded in correctly? I seem to remember a TT with similar, it was a new unit and was not coded in yet ...

With the map switch for meth, I would be about 100% more likely to get meth! especially if the switch was wired into the level sensor!

If it was me I would want, Usual map, with a meth map on a switch and then a fuel economic map. Maybe the valet map too.

I think that flashes just to tell you there's a fault code stored. I'm not 100% but that 22 doesn't actually mean anything specific.

Edited to say: Just checked, the flashing 22 does mean it's not coded. The code for your car should be 04061 (for units with a K or L suffix) or 00061 (for units with a M suffix).

Yes, I see no reason not to attach it to the level sensor ... also, the Meth kit I have has an output to attach to a switchable map with the On/Off switch ... either way, everything is possible!

Now, because the “live switching” map is a different device to the tool for uploading maps its possible that these two would not be compatible ... but I will do some testing with this in the near future to confirm the case or not ...

They all will Ash, £150ish is the additional price for the hardware once Rich's introductory offer expires.

Does sound like a fantastic piece of kit though.

yeah sorry scott i was making a 'funny' at the comment on getting a 800bhp thrown in for free with the map switching device.

Have to say the meth level warning switch to a different map would be ace. i was worried if the car had a low level and someone else was driving the car and didn't know that it needed topping up, with an automatic switch theat would be sorted!

this thing looks like it has a lot of options rich, good work

Ash

Personally I would have a microcontroller deciding whether meth map should be used. To make it fool proof. You could even program one to bring any information you want up on the dis display on the instrument panel. I.e map settings, meth fluid level, etc.

Maybe I could help you one that viper for a freebee.
