Update and Bump.

After taking out a mates car to see if it compares to my pride and joy, it was quite impressive in the twistys and is quite quick.  Managed to get onto the private runway and when I glanced over, 175 mph didnt feel very quick, but smooth.
May have to get one!

Then I took my baby out and decided to give her loud pedal a bit of a kicking.  As quick as the Porker I reckon off the mark but handling not a patch really even with my Eibach coilies but then,  he couldn't deliver a fridge freezer or take a full family and dog and gear to any destination.  More old school,  if my turbos kick in when I'm in the right gear  it gets very interesting, something i didnt feel in the 911 turbo.

Also nailed her today and fcuks me, how much fun are these cars..  If she doesnt sell, Ill keep her and have no regrets, its the 6 year ownership itch.

Dont be put off by the mileage, this car has had lots and lots spent on her, and I think only the steering wheel remains from the original car  and is in her prime I would say, not rusty, no wear and the engine is sweet and when put through its paces is awesome, as we all know.  Hasnt got the arches but who needs them, this is a sleeper with attitude but cars get the fcuk out the way i can tell you.

More phots from today.

and now for the attitude shot!!!

Bump.

Had the surging and general hunting and pulsing come back other day annoyingly and replaced the N75. Still not keen to be thrashed, think she has enjoyed the garage darkness too much so spent a couple of days on the loud pedal.

Christ, what an awesome car now after a Forte fuel flush and clean, been constantly in the power band and hitting the limiter a few times, just in case something should give up the ghost, rather me than a new owner and she is getting evil now and turned into a masochistic.

Just driven back around the Cornish twisties spiritedly, obviously, and will be amazed if a car can touch this amount of fun. The Porker wont with the Tiptronic box!!! This is serious stuff, dare I drop down and handle a boost of 1.5 bar going into a bend, fcuking ace fun!!!

Photos from today.

Anyone up for a play, she is so on fire at the minute!!

Chewing fat with my next door neighbor about how quick his Scirocco was and asked him if he had 5 mins for a drive.

Warmed her up, onto the runway and said ready?

Before he had a chance to say "oh yeah", I was comfortably nursing one and watching the Peri-track lights disappear at pace.

Same old response we all get!

"Fcuks me, how the fcuk can an estate go this quickly, this is awesome"?

Its an Avant my friend!!!  Stands for " Get the fcuk out the way, sleeper needs to get through"

Alternately, " Its a shortened version of Avant Garde which means not the normal.  It isn't a normal estate, Audi made ground breaking and fast estates and not as people expect it to be!! - Think_or_Thwim 2012.

Brilliant warm hearted and loyal description of Audi ownership......

Geat car, cheap as chips and would need to spend at least double and some to get anything nearly similar....

And the 996 interiors are tacky.. Not a patch on the Audis imo. The 993 turbo last of the aircooled greats will always remain close to my heart.. Love the styling.

Not fed the dog tonight in case she needs to be let out at the speed of naval gunfire!!!

Took an RS4 out last night, total standard apart from a Stage 1 remap to get the car to 445 bhp, I was told. Very nice, no bumps or knocks and very comfy. http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/clas ... 001/672942
Gearbox linkage bit notchy and aparently had a new clutch, without taking the engine out, cost about £750 he reckoned.
On first start up, bit rattley and I immediately thought cam lobes or cam chain tensioner but it went after approx 3 mins on idle.

Needed a Milltek and some brakes but I was not overly impressed, additional £7 on top of my car and for what?? Yes lot less miles!

Then I took the owner out in my baby, around the block. " Fcuks me, this is fast. Quite bit quicker than mine!" Aye, the old girl didnt like been outdone and proved again, only addition would be some wheel arches so Im slowly swayed away from the RS4 unless like Playo's, it can perform and impress me.

Keep it Reg    and keep the S8 , and you have the best of both worlds
Both are great cars, and you know your S4 ( inside out)  and the S8,

Update.

After buying a new number plate, I tried to peel off the old plate that had been stuck on.  Frigging thing removed all my paint and left a right mess.  Bumper now removed and being subject to full strip back and refinish in nice fresh Noggy Blue and plenty of Lacquer.

Pics will be posted when finished and the forum members given exactly 5 days to snap it up for £7500.  No takers and I will be fitting Aquamist WM and 3" DP's and hopefully another visit to Grizz for some final tweaks and Viper magic to get her into the 500's.  See another happy 6 years of fun motoring.

I have not advertised on Fleabay or PH for the pure reason, if I need to buy her back in 6 months, I know she will hopefully be available and have been looked after.

Latest mod.

Aftewr having a freh coat of paint, managed to sort out the grill by squeezing in a rubber surround and disguising the cutting.  Think she is still an awesome looking car.

if I was to keep her, Id go with a black bonnet grille surround and rings..

Still having second thoughts, what a great motor.

DISASTER, Strikes yet again!!!!

Turbo Fairies 3rd and last visit I hope.

Orig Set.   147K miles (Borg Warner K03's)

2nd Set.   2780 Miles (Chinese Chop Suey lookalikes)

3rd Set.   5000 Miles.  Loba 530's.

Out on a test drive with the new owner who was about to travel east on a one way journey out of Cornwall.  Had nice drive, warmed up as always, boosting perfectly at 1.6 bar on the boost gauge. Took her to the Rev Limiter a couple of times, as you do, on final trip back from Penzance to talk money and "Booom",  smoke trial and Oil light.

Been here before so killed the engine and got the car off the road when safe to do so.

Engine coming out again today to see the extent of the damage and where to go from here.  Be  shame to break the car, everything immaculate and truly lovely car to drive.  tight on suspension, brakes immense and all electrics working.

Wish those turbo fairies would fcuk off and leave me alone..

Gutted for you mate, I know the feeling all to well.
I think they probably did well to last this long, was it not you who had control line issues for months before sorting it ? My ko4 hybrids did about one month like that, maybe 500 miles before I got it sorted and they failed in style soon after.
