its bouncing around the board room as to either make it a low volume skyhigh price OR a main stream model at significantly lower price.....  has your fortunes changed Ali

From CarBuzz...

Audi has announced that they will make a decision on whether or not to build the Quattro Concept in time for the Frankfurt Auto Show this September. The car debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show to rave reviews.

Since that time, Audi has been trying to make a solid business case for the car. Their solution, according to Quattro GmbH boss Stephen Reil, would be "a small-volume exotic car with a production run of 500 to 1,000 cars."

With a target weight of 3,086 pounds, the German automaker would be required to "use lots of exotic materials," necessitating the high price and low volumes.

Power would come from the RS5's 4.2-liter V8, however, it will need a major overhaul in order to be integrated into the bespoke aluminum chassis.

Reil also confirmed that there's a working prototype and that a production version is about two to three years away. Our guess is that this will become Audi's new halo car once production on the current R8 ends.

Source...Audi Driver

Read that they believe that Audi are still deciding on whether to make it limited or non-limited.

Personally I don't believe for a second it'll be the RS4 engine. At worst it'd be the RS5 lump but like most I'd be gobsmacked if it's not the 2.5T.

How much does one of these V8 lumps weigh then? Judging by my tyre wear up front, quite a bit? Lighter must be the key for that machine, so surely they'd just go for the lightest? Nige' what would you prefer to see in one? V8 grunt, 5Pot turbo or a V6?

Has to be 2.5t I suppose... nudging 500PS in STD trim would do it for me!

I'm very interested in the new V8tfsi though
