Bet you didn't think you'd see this in your "new posts" haha

Well, got some nice overalls, gloves and rubber gloves donated (Thanks Frazz ) Acquired 3 6ft strip lights so I have daylight in the garage at night.

I've tided up the front of the car for better access and I've even removed the ABS unit/Pump/ bracket..!

It'll be tested to fit and maybe even fixed in place behind the firewall / where the battery lives on Saturday which then may even turn out to be a battery relocation day too

Progress is progress..

I'm hoping for a 2015 return, depends on work/family/money.

Cheers.

Yeah pretty much..

Sad times but just had other things to do.

Working ALOT and not getting paid for it, i've been saving to get myself on a few courses.. Got one beginning of Feb that'll get me into a better position for work..

So hopefully yes, 2015 should be my year! haha

It's not a race for me anymore, I just want to kind of plod along, get all the little things out the way.

So, Battery compartment is empty, Aircon lines removed and ABS Module will be secured into place over the next week..
Emptied the rear, Looking to cover the Seat Mount in something..

Hoovered, but needs a clean

Does the Headlight range module (4B0 907 357) have to stay in the padded case under the rear seat base, or can it be mounted anywhere..?

Time to get the bottom end back together, get the box back on, then mount the bottom end back in the car.

Heads tested on, to mock up some exhaust Manis Then I'll be able to plug most of it back in.

Happy times

Well, OMG!

Everything bought to get the block and box back in, so may as well get a shift on.

Not torqued down yet and all finger tight, I have the right length bolts

Coming along..

Just waiting to put the rings on, but I need to get some oil, I'll go for 5-40w I think..

Then they'll be in, Oil pump back on with the upper and lower pans.

Clutch disc should be in the next two weeks, so the clutch can be put on and the box bolted on..!

My plan is to get the block and box in by Feb.

Looking good.  Have you got a stretch gauge for the big end bolts?  I've got one here you can borrow, for the price of the postage.

Have a friend with one here, thanks for the offer Mikey

I'm off to find out which torque settings to use anyway..!?

I'm using VR6 ARP bolts, for stock VR6 rods.

VR6 Rod bolts are the same part number as b5 RS4 so no issues there..
(See previous thread showing sizes, dimensions, locating points are the same)

B5 S4 torque settings from ARP are around 28/30lb and VR6 are 38/40lb..
Can't find any for RS4..

But I think VR6 from ARP is the way to go.

All in.

Ready to torque tomorrow after picking up the Flywheel bolts and TOB. Waiting on a clutch Disc in the post and that can be thrown together. Then box on and block and box back in!

Happy Times
