i think it must cost them the same to produce both coolers (s4,rs4) maybe slightly more on the RS4 due To it being larger but the price difference between the two does need a bit of explanation.

Quite simply because the RS4 kit the cooler is ~50% larger, the RS4 kit also comes with hoses, clamps and replacement metal grills.

Hoses and clamps costs maybe 20£ to you and 50% larger core doesn't mean 50% more expensive. And if the grills were optional for extra cost and the normal price was e.g. 1490€ you would sell these like hot cakes. But thats just me how I'd do it. Although I'm no business guy. Don't know are the grills your own production but the sportec grills were crazy expensive.

Or it could be because there are loads more S4s so they made loads more S4 kits over the small market for RS4s. Cast parts, and buying power is all about quantity to get prices cheap.

Carsten has sold RS4 IC kits on here for as low as 1500eur in the past, and 70mm DPs for 600eur...........

There are 5 possible buyers on this topic alone, send him/Mark an email and ask for a group buy discount?!

Is there interest in a group buy?

One thing people may not have know is that we can sell any parts of the kits separate if you like.

If you want to make your own shrouds or not bother with the grills (RS4 kit), no problem, just get in touch for a quote.
