Take a look at this .... If parts are very cheap you'll know why .....

Agree. I aked someone to get me pads and told him pend up to £70. he phoned me later crowing that he got them for £19.98. I put them on.

Brakes were utter pants, in fact I'd say dangerous. Couldn't even lock the wheels.

Genuine or Lemfoerder for me.

Yep, this is the reason I paid nearly £100 for my genuine spark plugs rather then around half that on eBay for the same ones. Just didn't want to risk it but my OE Pagid pads from Euro Car Parts which cost about £50 vs Audi at £250 iirc, aren't feeling as sharp as I would have hoped and I've only had them on 2/3 months. Not sure on the quality of them and will be replacing them soon.

The" Pagid " pad thing is a joke ... Euro car parts push them as being "oe" .
But they are from a "oe" manufacturer  , they are far from "oe" quality . They are not re boxed as claimed by the ecp rep's ....

If you put the 2 sets side by side they are chalk and cheese ....

What pads would you recommend for B7 RS4 fronts?

Ferodo Ds2500's worked a treat on my LCR Brembos on my s3 and when my current pads wear out I shall be moving to them on my b7 fronts too

I fitted Pagid from ECP to the front of my car and they were hopeless.
Basically trashed a pair of discs.

DS 2500 are superb. EBC pads are not up to the job, unless you drive like Miss Daisy!

Grizz mentioned the pads I'd brought were going to be crap, but I didn't listen, well I'd already ordered them by then, they were okay for a month or so.
Dest, I'm getting Carbotech XP10 pads, they've been described as feeling like you've 'hit a brick wall' when you push the pedal and 'the harder you brake the stronger they get' they just don't fade apparently, they are baked for a week before dispatch and all sorts. I think they are about £350 iirc for the fronts, but everyone that has used them has only said good things and that they are worth every penny.

Is it 'never by' or 'never buy'.  Lol sorry couldn't resist! I'm rubbish at spelling and grammar, but for some reason it gets on my tits!
Bit of banter!
Good link though.

This is odd - what's with the Pagid bashing?

I've run pagid's all round on several cars, even on track days & a ring trip, and they've performed superbly. I wasn't expecting them to keep biting like they did, corner after corner.

I've also used DS2500's on several cars and couldn't beat them - these just seemed to get better and better as the laps passed, but the price does reflect this.

EBC yellows, I've found to be pants, just look at my S4 thread and see what happened to my front pads... I also had a set on the rear of a bora, which I had to swap out for pagid's as they weren't doing much to brake the rear!

I will ofcourse check future items for fakes, but you wouldn't expect them from a reputable supplier such as ECP. And I also see what Grizz is saying regarding "they're the same as OE, just in a different box". Well, from a usage point of view, I've noticed no difference of the performance between OE and Pagid, even if they look phyisically different. But, I wouldn't buy the sales talk, I'd buy based on personal experience.

Hoyle.
