I find Rain-x brilliant when first applied, but within a week I need to reapply. Also there is a downside to using rain-x on your rear window. When it starts to wear off, it causes misting which doesn't clear very well unless wiped.

I've never used the stuff before but the Gtechniq stuff has got alot of great reviews. Hopefully it will turn up for the weekend and i'll let you know

Nice one

My kit arrived yesterday morning (ordered it Thursday Night) and it works an absolute treat  I applied 3 coats to the front windscreen and water just runs straight off it! I didn't manage to get round to doing the rest of the windows but one coat for them is sufficient. 3 coats should be good for around 20,000 - 30,000 miles driving.

You watch, it won't rain for weeks now

I tried this stuff a while back but it made my screen look like it was covered in oil at night when the wipers were on! - great at making the water bead tho - just use polish for same effect!
Had a cnut of a job removing it too!

nope! just keep your screen clean & wipers good.
I cant believe anyone has good results with applying these polishes to their windscreens unless they never drive at night! > 'cos thats all they are - polish!
- yeh, in the daytime when the car is stopped & its raining the screen appears to magically shed water - looks lovely! But try driving at night when its raining - fcuking DANGEROUS!

Iv'e got some now, (Halfords own no less!!!) so I will apply it and let you know the results. I go to work v. early in morning, so for 11months of the year I drive to work in the dark, so should be a good test.

What did you use, Rain-x or Gtechniq? Because I've just been out in mine for some V-Power and the screen is clear as day?.

Put some Halfords own brand on the windscreen, front and rear side windows, side mirrors and rear window today.

Bring on the rain

Trip up to Turbo meet today. Rain both ways. Hardly had to use wipers

Side windows amazingly clear compared to untreated rear boot windows.

Rear windscreen didn't really benefit IMHO perhaps due to aerodynamics of rear air swirl not allowing water to disperse properly

9/10

Good man

It deffinatly works but I've not had chance to properly test it yet as it's hardly rained here, just the odd brief shower!

I applied some to my front headlights also, just to repell dirt and make life easier when I come to wash it.

10 days after applying I passed the Noggy this morning and noticed the "halfords" own brand still having an effect on dew/frost effect.
