OK I'll have to track down a good clutch as I only want to change it once.

Emailed mardi gras motorsport as they sorted my clutch out on my Golf

If there's a change in clutch feel that changes from actutation to actuation, it's usually a sign one of the springs has found its way out of the cage.  That happened on my 944S, and they're just about the biggest bugger of a job of any car to change a clutch on.
