Ive been looking at remaps for D2 S8s this morning. Its a car Ive always had my eye on. Ive seen a few people claim their S8s are above 400 with a remap, induction and exhaust change (possibly decat). I would have thought it difficult to even get close to 400, let alone above it without using Forced Induction.

Is this really possible?

Honestly I'm doubtful, we've had a few S8s on our dyno in paris and they hardly ever produced the stock BHP, a remap got 10 BHP max out of them, now maybe with a full decatted exhaust you might get close to 30BHP on top of what they do stock, but over 400, I think you need a very optimistic dyno in oder to get that...

Once upon a time ABT did a chip which, when combined with an exhaust, did get close to 400bhp. I only know of one car with it, and that's in the Netherlands.

Other than that.....no hope at all

i've seen people get considerable power out of naturally aspirated cars but it takes one heck of a wallet.

talking serious money splashed on porting, aggressive cams, different pistons, upgrading electronics, etc.

and they run like a complete bag of shit unless on full tilt when you do.

pennies spent on forced induction in comparison.

Just to bump my old thread... anyone know of a good FI setup on an S8 then? A centrifugal-type supercharger would seem to suit it best IMO.

Speak to Ben at Avperformance. He is our (A8/S8 owners club) god when it comes to servicing and maintnence and is working on a supercharged S8 now.
I'm going to supercharge mine once I see how that one turns out and runs after a few thousand miles. He's ex Audi master tech, Rollys Royce Jet engineer and work is top notch.
